The absolute best way to prevent, treat, and beat cancer is through nutrition. Unfortunately, finding the right information can be hard. The agricultural industry is doing its best to confuse us with tricky labels and misleading science.
Did you know that over 50% of cancer deaths are preventable? With the right diet, you can drastically reduce your cancer risk – and even help your body heal from most diseases. The medical mafia wants you to believe that drugs are the only way to fight disease and illness. The truth is that there’s very little money to be made in natural treatments. The standard American diet (SAD) is loaded with sugar, toxins, and processed, fake foods.
Each month, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite anti-cancer recipes. These dishes aren’t just good; They’re good FOR you!
Our body is bombarded with toxins relentlessly both externally and internally. The more toxic we are, the more weakened our immune system becomes. So detoxification is vital!
This delicious (and nutritious!) salad uses kale (which is rich in vitamins and minerals such as manganese, potassium, calcium, and magnesium), bell peppers (which contain over 30 different types of carotenoids – proven cancer-fighters), and red cabbage (which is rich in vitamin C, vitamin K, and is a low-calorie source of dietary fiber).
The best part? You can whip up this amazing salad in just a few minutes, which makes it a perfect addition to your meal when you’re tight on time. At the Bollinger house, we LOVE pepitas (also known as pumpkin seeds). Not only are they delicious, but they’re jam-packed with antioxidants, which can reduce inflammation and protect your cells from free radicals.
Who doesn’t love tacos? This fun and tasty meal can be prepared in under 30 minutes (once you’ve marinaded your chicken) and is loaded with healthy ingredients that will help fight off disease. The main ingredient here is chicken, so make sure you choose a truly organic, free-range source.
I love garlic. I can (and do) literally use it in just about every meal. It’s packed with flavor and adds a complex aroma. But did you know that garlic is also a powerful cancer-fighter? You can find 7 awesome health benefits of garlic here.
We also prefer to cook with avocado oil whenever possible, and the flavor profile really enhances the marinade for these tacos. Almost 70% of avocado oil consists of heart-healthy oleic acid, a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid. It can also help your body absorb nutrients, which is a major bonus.
I’ve listed this smoothie as a dessert, but you can also serve it for breakfast or a fun snack for the kids (it’s especially good for those hot, summer days). Blueberries are the second most popular berry in the United States. They are delicious and versatile in regards to cooking, but it is their nutritional content that really makes these berries shine!
Blueberries are naturally nutrient dense for a fruit. That means they are low in calories while they provide excellent levels of fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, fiber, copper, and manganese. In fact, they are believed to provide the highest concentration of antioxidants available in commonly consumed fruits and vegetables. Their water content also provides delicious hydration to every cell.
Other blueberry health benefits include their ability to fight heart disease. They have been shown to lower LDL cholesterol while controlling lipoprotein oxidation that leads to hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis). Adding anti-cancer foods such as blueberries to your diet is a crucial aspect of total body wellness. Choose wisely, shop responsibly, eat cleanly, and reap the benefits for decades to come!
