It’s with great sadness that we post this tribute to our friend, Olivia-Newton John, who passed yesterday, August 8, 2022.
She burst onto the Hollywood scene with her role as Sandy opposite John Travolta’s Danny in the 1978 blockbuster, Grease. A four-time Grammy Award-winner, Olivia sold 100 million albums with songs like “I Honestly Love You” and “Suddenly” and “Hopelessly Devoted to You.” She also scored huge hits in the 1980s with “Xanadu” and “Physical” and “Magic.” After retiring from acting, she focused on philanthropy, founding the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre in Melbourne, Australia.
We were honored to include Olivia and her husband, “Amazon John” Easterling, in two of our docu-series The Truth About Pet Cancer and also Quest for the Cures: FINAL CHAPTER. Along with Amazon John, Olivia was an avid animal lover and was a firm believer in plant medicine. When Ty interviewed her and John in early 2018 in Los Angeles, Olivia was charming, kind, genuine, and endearing. Not at all what you would expect from a Hollywood “mega-star” and icon. The next year, Amazon John was one of our speakers at TTAC [LIVE] 2019 in Anaheim.
A statement from her Facebook page stated, “Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer.”
A statement from her Instagram page stated, “Dame Olivia Newton-John (73) passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends. We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.
Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the @onjfoundation.
Olivia is survived by her husband John Easterling; daughter Chloe Lattanzi; sister Sarah Newton-John; brother Toby Newton-John; nieces and nephews Tottie, Fiona and Brett Goldsmith; Emerson, Charlie, Zac, Jeremy, Randall, and Pierz Newton-John; Jude Newton-Stock, Layla Lee; Kira and Tasha Edelstein; and Brin and Valerie Hall.

Our prayers go out to Amazon John and the rest of Olivia’s family. She will be greatly missed.

Was she vaccinated against covid19?
I am sure she did not take the poison gene therapy jab!
I had the pleasure of getting to know John back in the early 1990’s when I was conducting research on Cat’s claw (Uncaria Tomentosa), and publishing articles about this amazing Herbal Medicine and it’s benefits, for those facing cancer, AIDS, and other serious diseases, in The Townsend Letter for Doctors and other publications. His story about his travels throughout the Amazon, especially in Peru, led me to travel to Peru myself to learn more about Cat’s claw, and other traditional botanical medicines that have been used there for hundreds of years. Hearing of Olivia’s passing has deeply saddened me; but, if she had never met John, she likely would have passed away from cancer a very long time ago.
Thanks for posting the lovely tribute on Olivia. She has been my favorite singer for decades. I will always admire her strength on how she dealt with her cancer.
Many thanks Tye and Charlene. Sad to hear Olivia passed. It will not be long before she is back again in the paradise earth, young and beautiful again. You left out her most important song that made her famous;” If you love me let me know”. As children in the 70’s, we would begg our father to play records on Saturday or Sunday. Inevitanle If you love me let me know” the 45, would be played. How innocent we were…good clean fun. That song was taken from a cowboy movie she starred in, in the early 70’s. Never saw the movie but heard that 45 a biz zillion times. Still like it. Thanks again Tye and Charlene. Appreciate your work
I loved Olivia to bits and it is like I have lost someone very close despite never ever meeting her ? I was devastated to learn that she was in Cardiff where I live following up her fathers roots and would have loved to have met her <3 Rest in peace my lovely and deepest sympathy to her husband, family and friends ! Thank you Ty and Charlene for the opportunity to bid Olivia farewell
