Tom Finn was a trailblazer in the world of health freedom here in the United States.
He was also my uncle and godfather.
In 1982, he penned a groundbreaking book titled Dangers of Compulsory Immunizations, and How to Avoid Them Legally, with a foreword by his close family friend, and New York Times best-selling author, Dr. Bob Mendelsohn. Tom, a renowned attorney, represented families of vaccine-injured children nationwide, earning praise from Dr. Mendelsohn as “highly successful in immunization litigation.”
My uncle established the Freedom of Choice Law Center, over 45 years ago, a nonprofit organization offering legal aid to individuals advocating for healthcare freedom right here in Florida. I don’t know of any health freedom nonprofit in existence today as old as his was. My grandmother worked the front desk as a receptionist, and I loved going down to visit them on Spring break. It was a family affair, and I would marvel at how hard he worked to help others.
All this, after departing from one of the largest and most affluent firms in Chicago, where he was becoming a highly successful trial lawyer, he chose instead to dedicate himself to assisting those affected by vaccines. And to help parents and children who were fighting the ever-increasing vaccine mandates.
In 1983, Tom was also prominently featured on the cover of Vegetarian Times, accompanied by an in-depth article discussing the risks associated with vaccines, which was excerpted from his book. Reflecting on the magazine’s longevity, having celebrated over 50 years in publication, I find myself questioning whether they would still publish such a truthful article today. In conversations with fellow journalists from national publications, I have heard about the pressures they face to remain silent on vaccine injuries and even to promote false claims of safety and effectiveness, particularly when influenced by their own advertisers. Some have expressed concerns about media outlets becoming mere mouthpieces for the pharmaceutical industry.
Tom’s list of accomplishments is extensive, and too lengthy to recount here, but what mattered most to me was that he was a truly good man. Tragically, my dear Uncle T passed away under mysterious circumstances in Florida in 1997, when he was just in his mid-50s.
The news of his death and the alleged hasty cremation of his remains before family members were informed, left all our family beyond devastated. Tom’s untimely demise marked the loss of a champion whose cause would become my life’s work.
Dr. Bob Mendelsohn, who has always been regarded as another incredibly influential figure in the health freedom movement and Tom’s longtime mentor, had also died suddenly not long before my uncle, reportedly due to a heart attack at the age of 61. And he died right in Evanston, the very suburb of Chicago where I was born.
Dr. Bob, a prolific author whose works challenged traditional medical practices, including the bestseller How to Raise a Healthy Child, in Spite of Your Doctor, was a prominent figure on television shows like Phil Donahue.
Both Tom and Dr. Bob were ahead of their time, displaying immense courage in their advocacy for health freedom. Tom’s dedication to this cause was deeply personal, as he played a pivotal role in my adoption story, connecting me with my birth mother. Typically, a lawyer is not permitted to reveal the signatures on legal documents of the birth mothers to their clients. However, in this unique circumstance, since he (being the kind, generous Tom) offered to represent his own brother(my dad) and my adopted mom for free, Tom made an exception and showed them my birth mother’s signature.
With that signature, a name was revealed. His intervention ultimately led me to discover a book authored by my birth mother, which I found at my local library. The book recounted the heartfelt story of her decision to give me up for adoption. And it was dedicated to me, her firstborn and onlyborn.
Among all my relatives, I believe Tom was my greatest inspiration. He embodied a commitment to a healthy, clean diet and lived simply in his humble home on the sea with his wife and children during a time when beachfront properties were a heck of a lot more affordable.
Tom not only exemplified the importance of living authentically but also instilled in me a profound value for honesty and seeking the truth. Just as my father always emphasized, Tom encouraged me to question authority and think critically about the world around me. His influence has left a lasting impact on my beliefs and values, shaping the way I navigate through life and approach challenges with a sense of integrity and curiosity.
Tom’s influence on my life was profound; he was the reason I embraced an organic vegetarian lifestyle for a significant portion of my life. Despite facing numerous health challenges due to a difficult start, his advocacy for a local organic diet and healthy living helped me more than I can express. His guidance and example not only shaped my dietary choices but also contributed significantly to my overall well-being. Even though we lost him far too young, I’m so grateful, that at least for my youth, I had him there as a godfather and someone who was so encouraging.
Just before I began writing my unintended series of holistic doctors who had died unexpectedly before 2020, mostly homicide, alleged suicide and strange sudden deaths, I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Mayer Eisenstein (a holistic MD). He was another trailblazer who provided valuable advice and shared how profoundly inspired he was by both Dr. Bob and my uncle Tom. Tragically, Dr. Eisenstein died suddenly in Chicago in his 60s in 2014 and being of the Jewish faith, no autopsy was performed.
Following his untimely death, I had the opportunity to meet his only son, Jeremy. We shared our experiences of losing our respective family members – for him, his father, and for me, my uncle. What struck me as incredibly surreal was the revelation that Dr. Eisenstein’s godfather was Dr. Bob, and my godfather was my uncle Tom. They had been the closest of friends and, of course, had collaborated on the vaccine book together. I distinctly remember the moment we sat in the car discussing this revelation while looking at the book, feeling a profound sense of disbelief.
All of the people I’ve mentioned here, including myself, were from Chicago and then ended up spending time in Florida or living here in the Sunshine State part-time.
Jeremy, much like his father, exudes vitality and is blessed with a wonderful wife and family. The sudden loss of his father came as a shock, as they were unaware of any underlying heart issues he may have had. With no autopsy conducted, they were left without definitive answers regarding the cause of his passing.
Reflecting on Tom’s legacy and his impact on my life, I am reminded of his unwavering commitment to fight for the rights of individuals seeking healthcare autonomy. His influence continues to guide my journey as I carry forward his legacy of health freedom advocacy.
And I think and pray for each and every one out there who is risking their life to share the truth. But I would rather die, sharing the truth than to ever live telling a lie.
Hopefully, my father, who had a heart attack while hang gliding at age 80 just before 2020, and his brother Tom, are up there in heaven, and despite not always seeing eye to eye, I think now they are watching down on all of us knowing the truth.

I too am an adoptee and believe my seizures at age 3 were vax-related.
Although I don’t agree with the vegan/ vegetarian diets, I appreciate your efforts to promote health freedom. I work in the caregiving industry and am very blessed to have been able to not wear a mask or take the jab. Unfortunately, many friends were forced to get jabbed and are now struggling with cancer. One of my dear clients, who was like a mama to me, was murdered by the system 5 days after her second jab. Criminal!
Please keep on going with your efforts to tell the truth!
