Ty Bollinger: Suzanne, if you could, let’s go back about 14 years now in time and tell us about your bout with breast cancer and what you did to treat it.
Suzanne Somers: When I look back 14 years, what I am so glad about is what I didn’t do. I remember that I got the recipe right away; we’ll do surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and after care drug of Tamoxifen.
And even at that time… because all of us in the alternative world, from year to year you know so much more. I can’t do that. The idea of putting chemical poison into my body to cure me just doesn’t make sense. And he [the doctor] said “you’ll die if you don’t.” And I said, “I think I’ll die if I do what you want me to do.”
So I did end up doing radiation because a doctor I respected very much, who is an alternative doctor, said, “Well, you have to do radiation.” And I said, “Really? You would do it, too?” And she said, “Absolutely.”
I think today, knowing what I know about radiation and knowing what I know about a nutritional approach to cancer, I really don’t think I would have done radiation. Because any problem I have health-wise is as a result of radiation. So, I have a whole different feeling about it.
But, we [all] do the best that we can with the information we have at the time. And that is what I knew at that time…

23 years ago I was diagnosed with very early breast cancer, so small it was specks on the mammogram. I was diligent about mammograms from an early age because my mother had a mastectomy for a rare form of it (Pagets), I had a lumpectomy and radiation and without any medication etc. and was fine for 20 years when another very early diagnosis showed it up again, same breast. This time I underwent a mastectomy and opted for both of them to go. I refused chemo because I was very aware of what toxic chemicals can do to the brain and other internal organs. I felt unless there was a definite reason for chemo I wasn’t going to allow them to give it to me as a matter of standard procedure. I had read that out of 100 people it only has a 2% success rate in USA and 2-1/2% in UK. Further I studied effects of chemical exposures to the body and it wasn’t pretty what I learned. A year after I made this decision the study came out that chemo isn’t necessary in most cases of early detection. My mother had no chemo or radiation and hers was far more advanced than mine (she lived for 30 years afterwards and died of old age at 90) so I am not a fan of chemo only as a last resort I suppose.

BEYOND CONFUSED
I’m 4 yr survivor- stage 1, estrogen positive HER2 negative-i has a double mastectomy and refused tamoxifen IM 51 and recently did a DNA woman’s health accesment . I am estrogen dominant (obviously)
Let’s talk hormones/menopause……i currently take CBD OIL but i don’t sleep can’t keep weight off and small hot flashes are occurring at night.
My oncologist is like nope never take any type of
hormone therapy and a doctor (he is a medical do type) we see in Austin says she’s wrong that it is safe and I would greatly benefit from compounded progesterone-
everything I read is BEYOND confusing ……

Hi. I was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2013, and had a lumpectomy and Radiation. My boyfriend at the time tried to convince me that Tamoxifen was going to cure me so I tried it for less than a week because it made me sick. I was fine for a few years, but the Cancer came back in my spine. The doctors insisted that I needed emergency back surgery where they took out my #11 bone and replaced it with a fake bone and pins. At this point I was very vulnerable because me and my son were living with my boyfriend, who believes everything that the Oncologist says. He insisted that I take the chemo poison Xgeva. The Xgeva injection hurt so bad and within 2 months I was having an extremely difficult time opening my hands. My joints were hurting as well. I went to a specialist and he said that he thinks it was any new medicine that I was taking. Of course my boyfriend and Oncologist were not believing me or the other doctor.
I am writing because now my Cancer has come back and it’s spread throughout my body. The worse part is that my boyfriend kicked me and my son out when I was in the hospital and he found out that I was now “terminal”. I am now struggling to support my son and I, while trying to figure out what to do about my Cancer. I am in excruciating pain and I am scared that I can die any day. I am also worried about my son who is only 14. I can’t let him know how serious my Cancer is. I am looking for any help and advice you can give me. Thank you for your time.
