Yesterday, Missouri and Louisiana Attorneys General Eric Schmitt and Jeff Landry released the full transcript of Anthony Fauci’s November 23rd deposition. The deposition is part of an ongoing lawsuit against the Biden administration which alleges collusion between government agencies and media/tech platforms to suppress free speech and silence dissent.
“In our deposition with Dr. Fauci, it became clear that when Dr. Fauci speaks, social media censors,” said Attorney General Schmitt. “I encourage everyone to read the deposition transcript and see exactly how Dr. Fauci operates, and exactly how the COVID tyranny that ruined lives and destroyed businesses was born.”
“Fauci’s recent deposition only confirmed what we already knew: federal bureaucrats in collusion with social media companies want to control not only what you think, but especially what you say,” said Attorney General Landry.
The deposition, which had originally been sealed, is nearly 400 pages long and covers nearly 9 hours of testimony. We spent hours pouring over the entire document and will share the highlights below. However, we highly encourage you to read the deposition for yourselves.
1 | Fauci Can’t Remember
A theme throughout the deposition is Fauci’s inability to remember… anything. Emails. Phone calls. Articles. Meetings. Press conferences. Fauci insists that these are not things that he can remember. Or, in some cases, asserts that these communications and decisions were not important enough to be worth remembering.
When asked, for example, if he had co authored a 2011 op-ed in the Washington Post, Fauci refused to give a yes or no answer. Instead, he simply said that he could see the article with his name on it in front of him, so it “looks like I did.”
This was a recurring theme throughout the deposition, with Fauci refusing to answer questions directly or simply stating that he has no memory of the event in question. In fact, Fauci said “I don’t recall” 174 times over the course of the interview. And while few people can remember every email and phone call from 2 years ago, most of these questions were about important conversations with important people at pivotal moments early in the COVID-19 breakout.
Based on this testimony, Fauci is either the most forgetful man on earth, or was well coached to avoid giving any kind of direct answers. But there were several revelations from the transcript.
COVID Origins
EcoHealth Alliance – Peter Daszak’s nonprofit organization – was at the heart of gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of virology. That research was funded by a grant from NIAID, which Fauci directs.
This coincided with early reports – directly to Fauci, from Jeremy Ferrar and Kristian Anderson – “of the possibility of there being a manipulation of the virus” based on the fact that “it was an unusual virus.”
Fauci conceded that he was specifically made aware by Anderson that “the unusual features of the virus” make it look “potentially engineered.”
Fauci couldn’t recall why he sent an article discussing gain of function research in China to his deputy, Hugh Auchincloss, telling him it was essential that they speak on the phone. He couldn’t recall speaking with Auchincloss via phone that day. But remarkably, Fauci did remember assigning research tasks to Auchincloss.
Fauci claims that he relied on other experts to determine if the virus had been engineered or if it had occurred naturally, repeatedly asserting that this was not his area of expertise and that he wasn’t qualified to make that determination.
But emails between Fauci, NIH head Francis Collins, Kristian Anderson, and others tell a different tale. It seemed that there was a great amount of secrecy around the idea that the virus could have been man-made, with Fauci and his cohorts repeatedly referencing “total confidence” and “small groups.”
In fact, the paper that was used to discredit the lab leak theory, The proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2 was sent to Fauci for feedback at least 5 times before the final draft. Kristian Andersen and other scientists claimed that they analyzed genomic data and that “our analyses clearly show that SARS-CoV-2 is not a laboratory construct or a purposefully manipulated virus.”
Fauci held a secret phone call with all of the authors of the paper just weeks before it was published—some of the authors before the call expressed in since-released emails that they thought the virus did not come from nature—and has since acknowledged receiving multiple drafts of the document prior to its publication. Kristian Andersen, the lead author, told Fauci at one point, “Thank you again for your advice and leadership.”
Fauci said in the deposition that he had “very little” to do with the paper and that he did not recall making any “substantive comments” to the authors regarding the paper.
But in a White House press conference in April 2020 (which you can watch here), Fauci touted the new paper as proof that the virus occurred naturally. And even though he had been in regular contact with the authors throughout the process, Fauci said he couldn’t recall their names.
“So the paper will be available. I don’t have the authors right now, but we can make that available to you,” he said. Why would Fauci pretend not to know the authors of a paper he was using to discredit the lab leak theory?
Great Barrington Declaration
The Great Barrington Declaration was an open letter published in October 2020 that denounced lockdowns and other extreme COVID measures as harmful. The GBD asserted that targeted protection should be limited to only those at greatest risk from the virus, while the rest of the population should allow exposure, resulting in herd immunity that would offer community protection against the virus.
The letter was authored by Dr. Martin Kulldorff, Dr. Sunetra Gupta, and Dr. Jay Bhattacharya and signed by tens of thousands of scientists and medical practitioners, including Nobel Laureate Dr. Michael Levitt.
But emails between Fauci and Collins suggest that both wanted to discredit the GBD as quickly as possible.
The emails also seem to indicate that Fauci was directly involved in putting out hit pieces designed to undermine the GBD.
FOIA Requests
When asked about his role in responding to various FOIA requests about his emails from the NIAID and NIH, Fauci responded that he was not immediately involved.
However, the HHS claimed otherwise during a Joint Status Report in a 2020 lawsuit requesting documents and emails. HHS said that it could only produce 300 pages per month because “of the technical complexity of the subjects on which NIAID works, the agency’s record custodians— in this case, Dr. Fauci and Dr. Lane, as well as their staffs — must often be given an opportunity to review the records and advise on the presence of potentially exempt material that would not be apparent to a lay person.”
Twitter Insider
Fauci also repeatedly stated that he was not familiar with social media, knew nothing about any censorship initiatives, and had no real opinion on the matter. But after asking FIVE TIMES if Fauci knew anyone at social media companies, he admitted something most of us didn’t know:
Whether or not Fauci’s daughter was in a position to make decisions about censorship on Twitter is unclear, but for a man who claims to be completely removed from social media, it sure took a long time for the information to come out.
Fauci said he never discussed with his daughter the content posted on social media or the origins of COVID-19.
NIAID and Google
Towards the end of 2020, social media and tech companies began aggressive censorship of what they called “dangerous information.” This included claims that hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin has shown promise as an early treatment (TRUE), claims that the vaccine would not stop infection or transmission of the virus (TRUE), claims that lockdowns and social distancing would cause more harm than good (TRUE), claims that the virus had likely originated from the Wuhan lab (TRUE) or claims that masks weren’t effective at stopping transmission (TRUE).
Fauci insisted that he played no part in any censorship measures, but is that true? “No, I have not,” Fauci said when asked whether he’d asked a social media company to remove misinformation. He also said that, to his knowledge, none of his staffers had.
According to emails produced in the case, the government communicated with Big Tech concerning the removal of multiple accounts they said were pretending to be Fauci. Twitter removed an account and company officials said it would “freeze” similar handles to try to prevent impersonation, while Facebook removed accounts on both Facebook and Instagram.
Fauci was later shown an email that showed NIAID officials were trying to connect to Google “on vaccine communications, specifically misinformation,” and that a meeting was planned. He said he wasn’t sure whether the meeting ever took place.
The Path to Transparency
We’ve seen from recently published emails from Twitter, earlier depositions from this lawsuit, and internal documents that the government’s relationship with Big Tech is secretive and quite cozy. As you read through the deposition, it becomes clear that Fauci – along with NIH, CDC, and the WHO – had an agenda from the start to control the narrative surrounding COVID-19.
He wanted to hide the truth about COVID’s NIAID-funded origins, discredit cheap, effective drugs and the possibility of natural herd immunity in favor of vaccines, and silence any voices who questioned him.
We were censored, shadowbanned, deplatformed for sharing stats, facts and scientific data taken from the government’s own websites about COVID-19 — the same facts the current director of the CDC, Fauci and others are now saying are true after two plus years of denying these facts.
We were right all along.
We should never have been censored. The world needs to hear our voices in order to make informed decisions about their health. Our government has colluded to hide the truth about COVID, and we need the truth to ensure this never happens again. Lives are on the line. Informed consent and real science will save countless lives. It is our mission to reach everyone with the truth to support life.
Please take the time to read the deposition in its entirety. These are government officials spending YOUR money and deciding how YOU should live, when you can work, what you can say, and what you need to put into your body. Everyone should know the truth.
