The common Indian spice turmeric has been in use for more than 5,000 years. The active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin, which is known for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and anticarcinogenic activities.
Multiple studies have demonstrated turmeric’s cancer-fighting properties. According to the authors of a 2015 study published in the journal Molecules, “Research to date suggests that chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, and most chronic diseases are closely linked, and the antioxidant properties of curcumin can play a key role in the prevention and treatment of chronic inflammation diseases.”
While there are many tasty ways to incorporate curcumin into your diet, one of the easiest ways is by making turmeric tea. This creamy turmeric tea recipe combines the power of curcumin with other potent cancer fighting spices such as cinnamon, cloves, and ginger.
This delicious tea can be enjoyed hot, or turned into an iced turmeric tea “latté” by serving over ice. Be sure to use only organic, non-irradiated spices to receive the most anti-cancer benefits possible.
How to Make Turmeric Tea (Recipe)
Yield: 1-2 servings
Preparation Time: 5-10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons turmeric powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon Ceylon or regular cinnamon
- 1⁄2 teaspoon fresh ginger, chopped OR 1⁄4 tsp ground ginger
- 1⁄8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 pinches of ground cardamom
- 1 teaspoon raw cold pressed coconut oil
- 1 1⁄2 cups fresh coconut or almond milk OR purified water (water makes it less creamy)

- Cinnamon stick or a sprinkle of spices for garnish (optional)
Directions:
- Blend all ingredients in a blender on high speed setting until smooth.
- Pour into a small pot and heat on low temperature until nearly simmering, approximately three minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately in a mug, garnished with a cinnamon stick.
- For an Iced Turmeric Tea Latté, allow to cool and pour into a glass filled with ice cubes. Sprinkle with extra spices if desired.
Ingredient Sources:
1Coconut nectar can be found in some specialty grocery stores and is readily available online. Coconut nectar is exceptionally high in enzymes, nutrient rich, and is low glycemic, so it’s an excellent sugar substitute.
2Lakanto (Wholesome Sweeteners Brand) is a one to one sugar substitute available at Whole Foods. This is a superior sweetener for ketogenic diets and low glycemic needs.

this turmeric tea similar to the remedy I posted recently. turmeric works………it is a healing spice. I use it in honey with ginger and cinnamon
How do you know that turmeric works ? Do you or did you have a cancer ?
Hi Alice,
good question, how do I know it works? yes I did have cancer and I currently have some infections and an abscess going on in my mouth. the infection is slowly disappearing according to the mouth x-rays and I am feeling so much better. I also take 4 curcumin capsules daily…………turmeric is a great healer………..I believe in the effectiveness of the spice turmeric. I purchase mine at our farmers mkt. I also have/had many health issues and when I started combining turmeric, honey, cinnamon and ginger I noticed a big improvement……
what about adding lemon to that mix? that would be like the cats meow!
Also, do you take apple cider vinegar? maybe with honey & lemon?
Is that high strength Tumeric if so is that around 2000mg
I use Turmeric with Cinnamon, Rosemary, Lime Juice, Apple Cider Vinegar. Honey, Water, Coconut Oil in a tea every morning. Purported to lower blood sugar for diabetics. I think it helps. I’ll try adding the Ginger and Cloves and rest of the ingredients.
I make the tea and only use fresh tumeric and ginger and bring it myself . The powder you buy goes stale and has a totally diff, flavour, the companies also add other things for volume. I wear rubber gloves so my fingers don’t get stained.
What my question is how many cups of this can I drink for cancer a day?
Hello there when u use fresh Turmeric do you grate it..chop it etc Ang how. Many thanks
How many cups of this tea should you drink each day? My husband was just diagnosed with melanoma, and we need to get on top of this as quickly as possible
Hi Maryann,
We cannot recommend specific dosages. So the best advice we can give you is to consult with one of the doctors/experts that we interviewed in our Global Quest Series. Here is a link to get their information: https://thetruthaboutcancer.com/experts-info-sheet/
Sending healing vibes your husband’s way!
I use a lot of powdered tumeric for cooking. One has to be careful when purchasing powdered tumeric. Many Companies mix it with flour etc etc to be price competitive. Try to get organic or fair trade tumeric powder when making tea. You can also purchase the fresh tumeric root from an Indian grocery store. I purchase a quantity of fresh tumeric, wash it, cut it up in small pieces, freeze it and use a piece in the blender or vitamix when necessary to make my drink.
Thank you for sharing very clear and helpful information
I tried using matcha tea with all these spices this morning! It is very robust! I use raw milk in my drinks so I do not heat it!
I jabe been making a much simpler version of this every evening for a couole of months to help with a skin condition. I think it has been helping, slowly but surely. All I do is warm up some raw milk, mix in 1-2 tsp of organic ground turmeric, a couple grinds of black pepper and a tsp of raw honey. It needs to be mixed before every sip because the turmeric settles to the bottom but it is yummy and so worth it. Even my kids come swipe sips of my golden milk.
Hi Tessa I do exactly the same, except milk, I use just a water and I take it every morning on empty stomach, after one week I don’t have back pain, knee pain 🙂
Made the mistake of clicking on the link in the article…
“Getting all the benefits of these powerful ingredients combined is now easy as pie…
Just 2 capsules a day will give you all the fantastic anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefit, with none of the cooking, steeping, muss or fuss of having to “create your own” cocktail.”
… In other words you don’t need to cook or make anything. Just open up a jar of pills.
Well that’s sounding familiar. Where have I heard that before.
“No more wondering if you’re getting the correct dose.”
Food doesn’t come in doses. Drugs do. And the correct dose for who exactly?
Personally, I would lose the fear factor and pushy sales techniques and simply focus on education. That’s how to best keep your cause a noble one. In my humble opinion of course 🙂
Yes, the usual.
Thank you for the recipe but especially for all you and your family do for our health! I went to the Wholesome Sweet website but am unable to find Lakanto. Where do I find Wholesome Sweet Lakanto?
Fully understand the health (and business) interests in getting products that you endorse to as many of the TTAC followers as possible. But with products manufactured in the USA, shipping to a European country surely exposes the product to a variety of possible altering states. For example, shipped good are regularly x-ray’d at least once, sometimes more…. What will that do to the potency and structure of something like Turmeric 3D???
Turmeric is very easy to grow and then store.
Turmeric may be easy to grow if you have access to land (i.e. a garden) but living in an apartment building in Portugal this is not the case…. I will search out some “Asian shops” in Lisbon for I am told they sell the root there – but I was questioning the “safe” availability of these “super products” endorsed by TTAC – and (as yet) TTAC have not responded….
just grow it in the pot
Being an Indian, I use all these spice in my regular tea except turmeric and coconuts. Now turmeric I can use but is it important to have coconuts in the tea. Or I should say can I make tea without coconuts.
My husband has Myeloma from last 2years. I am trying to give him any possible natural food that can help him.
I think they are adding coconut to enhance the absorption of Curcumin to body! If you skip it wouldn’t make big difference I guess!
Curcumin is a liposoluble substance that’s why coconut oil is added, as it needs a fat to properly enter the bloodstream. You heat it to simmering point to combine it with the oil and the black pepper, which works as a bioavailability booster.
black pepper works perfect enhance absorption up to 2000%
Hi all, I have been drinking this Turmeric chai tea , its all made up ready to go, I suggest looking it up.

Me and my wife have been drinking turmeric tea regularly. Our recipe does not contain as many ingredients as this suggests. Our is simple, turmeric powder + cinnamon powder + bit of ginger powder and sweeten it with raw/unprocessed honey. We’re healthy, this is just a part of our lifestyle. We also rotate it with other teas with have like green tea, moringa tea and lagundi(Vitex negundo) tea.
Hi Mike, if I may call you that. I like your recipe, I also use a cut down recipe but there is one thing missing from your recipe which is very important.
You must add Black pepper as the piperine (also called bioperine) in black pepper boosts the effectiveness of circumin in turmeric it is reported by 2000percent.
Otherwise most of the circumin just passes through the digestive tract and the health value of turmeric has been lost and the whole point of making a health tea has been a waste of time!
regards
Rick
sounds good. I don’t think you need the fat if you have the pepper.
I have read a lot of anecdotal material relating to alternative remedies but is there any hard evidence, accepted by experts in the field, acknowledging that turmeric or anything else cures or prevents cancer? I don’t have cancer but I am taking lots of olive oil, flaxseed oil, cottage cheese, celery seeds, natural yogurt etc but am I wasting my time and simply thinking I am doing something to prevent it? In other words, is there any real science behind all of this or is it simply unverified hearsay from people akin to things like UFO or Bigfoot sightings or ESP? Is it really something for slick promoters to sell their products or DVDs, books etc preying on those who have a real health problem and giving them false hope?
Thank you Ms. Bollinger for sharing the recipe with us. Maybe, I should try this tea. I can get the ingredients at ‘Whole Foods’, because ‘Whole Foods’ sells all organic stuff. Ms. Bollinger, does this tea cure people with stage 4 cancer?
Does this really have to be cooked? or could it just be blended and served at room temp or refrigerated for a cold drink. I’m just wondering if heating it changes it or releases some added benefits?
I’m sure you can change it around as you like. I myself wouldn’t use the honey.
I have read that Indian gurus say Turmeric is toxic to the liver unless it is cooked. Also, last year the FDA warned that Turmeric from India may contain high levels of lead.
I believe in the posted research that tumeric has been used to heal for the last 5000 years. I use it every day in my smoothies, and put it in my lentils, soups; it actually has a delicious flavor, although I like honey in the tea..
I m from india and as far as my knowledge the honey should never be heated so there is mistake in process , honey should be added sfter cooled down only
This recipe is seriously DELICIOUS! I had it for breakfast this morning. WOW – I will be doing this recipe again… and again… It’s similar to drinking a pumpkin pie latte. Only MUCH better for you! Thank you. I am a cancer patient, but am doing great by God’s grace, and working on nutritious meals and exercise and reducing chemicals in my life, so this will be a nice addition to my recipe collection.
Black pepper is a stimulant. It passes through the body undigested. Use red pepper instead.
Really?
I thought that black pepper was only undigestible once it was cooked… I’ll have to google that!
Yes, I ndeed
If I were to use essential oils instead of fresh ingredients, how many drops should I use? ie: ginger cardamom pepper cloves .
How often should I drink this? I’m in recovery from having had filopian cancer.
In Uganda we can grow turmeric all we would be interested in is the market, anyone can offer that and it will organically grown. Get back if you find this a good idea.
Umed, during the Ultimate Live Symposium, a doctor that was speaking said that he treated one of his Myeloma patients with LED laser detox. If I remember correctly, he said that the room smelled strongly of petroleum because the man had rubbed it into his skin every day for 45 years. I am sure that that detox benefited him greatly! You should look into that for your husband.
LED laser detox? got a link?
I just googled it and LED actually stands for Laser Energetic Detoxification. Here is the website I was looking at:
