Autumn is one of my favorite times of year. The heat of summer gives way to the crisp, cool air of fall and we find those cozy comforts to share with loved ones. And nothing suits the season better than my autumn comfort sweet potato chips.
It’s important to eat with the seasons, and nothing says Autumn like sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes contain special antioxidants that have been shown to demonstrate anti-cancer benefits. Coupled with turmeric, oregano, garlic, and cayenne pepper, it is an excellent snack to fight cancer while meeting those comfort food needs.
Did you know that garlic is an anti-cancer superfood? When it comes to cancer, garlic has repeatedly demonstrated powerful antioxidant, anti-tumor, and generalized anticancer properties that have caught the attention of researchers from around the world. Plus, garlic is one of the most flavorful and commonly-used ingredients in the world!
For a healthy snack that can help you embrace the fall season and keep you and your family healthy, check out the recipe below!

[Editor’s Note] 12/27/19: We received a few comments from readers having trouble with getting the chips crispy. We’ve adjusted the recipe to slice the chips thinner, turning the heat up to 400, and flipping halfway through. If chips are still not crispy enough after 20 minutes, turn heat up to 425 for another 5 minutes. Bon appetit!

There’s no way that cooking these sliced thinly in a glass dish will result in chips. They’d need to be placed on a cooking rack on top of a baking sheet in the oven so air can circulate all around them in order for them to be crispy.
I tried Sweet potato fries on my ‘Earth Diet’ by Liana Werner-Gray. My father did not like them because he hound the sweet potato fries too sweet for his taste even if I only added turmeric, garlic, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Your recipe looks good, by the way.
I do love sweet potato …but i did try to make as a chips but it never get crispi how do you do it…bake or fry…i love to know
Hi Cnfern –
We hear you – sweet potatoes are SO delicious! The best way to make these chips crispier would be to slice the chips thinner, turn the heat up to 400, and flipping the chips halfway through. If the chips are still not crispy enough after 20 minutes, turn heat up to 425 for another 5 minutes.
Please do share how these chips turn out for you. We’d love to hear your feedback! 🙂
Wishing you a beautiful and blessed new year from the entire TTAC family!
