Video Transcript: Do Breast Cancer Screening Guidelines Lead to Over-Diagnosis?
Ty Bollinger: Early detection is your best protection.
Sayer Ji: Exactly. They even equated this meme with prevention when in fact you’re exposing your breast to a type of radiation that is actually known to have a higher risk of causing cancer in the breast. Especially if you have the BRCA1 and 2 gene mutations that everyone is so concerned about. Because they make it harder for you to damage, to radiate, to protect yourself from radiation-induced damage.
Over-diagnosis, according to a recent study done in The New England Journal of Medicine, over the past 30 years in United States resulted in 1.3 million women being diagnosed with early stage breast cancer that technically never had any type of cancer that would cause harm. This is called ductal carcinoma in situ or stage zero cancer, which they equated with actual cancer which now we know is not.
So what that basically meant is that they would give them the standard mastectomy or lumpectomy with radiation with chemotherapy. Things like tamoxifen, and then follow up hormone-suppressing therapies like Arimidex.
So basically, what we’re dealing with here is kind of a medical holocaust of sorts. Because those women now had to deal with being diagnosed with a cancer they didn’t have, being treated for it, having the stigma, and all the psycho-spiritual emotional stress that’s caused by that. And then, statistically, the industry told them that they saved their lives when in fact, quite the opposite had happened. So they identify with the aggressor like a Stockholm syndrome.
Millions of people march in these breast cancer awareness marches not realizing that it’s funded by the very corporations that make money off the drugs used to treat breast cancer. We’re talking about AstraZeneca which actually is a derivative of Imperial Chemical Industries who started breast cancer awareness month in the 80s and has the patent or had the patent for tamoxifen and Arimidex.
So it’s a vicious circle of brainwashing and it’s used to cover up, really, what has cost the lives, I think, of hundreds of thousands of women ultimately.
Ty Bollinger: That’s really fascinating information. It’s really shocking. It’s really sad that we’ve had so many women that potentially have been diagnosed with cancer and have gone through all of these toxic treatments. Potentially even died from the treatments, that never even had cancer to start with.
Sayer Ji: Absolutely. Over-diagnosis is basically causing inflation of the success in terms of what the industry says they’re doing. Because of what’s called lead time bias. Which is, if you diagnosed something early that would never progress to cause harm in the patient — and surely not take their life — it appears as if, according to statistics, you’ve saved their life because you have this [additional] time when you diagnosed the cancer from when it would have caused the symptom later.
Ultimately, the mortality statistics remain the same, meaning they don’t live longer because you’ve done that. Lead-time bias is also related to length-time bias which is that when you do these sorts of screenings, you’re going to actually detect the slow-growing cancers before you are the fast-growing.
It’s a statistical fact that fast-growing cancers which are the ones that are malignant are not going to be picked up as fast or as accurately as the slow-growing non-malignant ones. These two factors lead to ultimately higher mortality than those who subject themselves to breast cancer screening. That’s actually the reality. You look at all the trials and it now says that women who do this preventatively to detect it early are actually probably going to end up dying of breast cancer sooner than those who do not.
Ty Bollinger: You know I’ve read that. I’ve also read that you mentioned the fact that mammography actually increases breast cancer risk.
Sayer Ji: Yes.
Ty Bollinger: That’s amazing because the fact that women are urged—this documentary will be airing on October, breast cancer awareness month—and when they are urged to get the mammogram and it’s actually an ionizing radiation. And studies have shown over and over, it [mammograms] actually increases the risk of cancer.
Sayer Ji: Yes. Not only that, what they found is exact type of wavelength that is used. It is actually five to six times more carcinogenic than high energy radiation which is how they look at radiological risk today as compared radiation in mammography to the kind released during the Hiroshima event which was based on external exposure of a different wavelength.
And because wavelengths are technically of lower energy but higher carcinogenicity, higher toxicity, it actually causes more radiation-induced breast cancer than letting people know. So the risk of screening is five to six higher than what women are being told.
Inge says
Thank you for the information. I am 71 now and never trusted the radiation controll. Some friends had the controll and were diagnoticed with cancer. They really believed they were saved, but i knew better. I could not tell them, but thank you for sharing this info. Inge from Spain.
I think there should be justice
It doesn’t end with treatment for cancer that you didn’t have; once you have been irradiated and given the drugs that supposedly “cure” cancer, you are set up for future invasive cancers, this time the real thing. Temporary suppression of stem cells that promotes virulent recurrence needs to be researched by people without an interest in the cancer industry as a money maker. And these deadly drugs should be permanently outlawed. There are other ways to treat cancers — successfully.
What’s your recommendation on breast cancer screening then?
Hello, Sheila!

Thank you for your information. I found it very startling and shocking, even though I always suspect Big Pharma and the medical establishment as being covert.
May you keep moving forward in representing and advocating the truth of flagrant practices associated with the medical and pharmaceutical industry.
Thank you, Jeffery!
Your thoughts, comments and the support of our mission are very much appreciated.
I avoid Mammograms because of this. My doctor gets pissed off at me and try’s to scare me into doing it. I refuse! Just because my mother had breast cancer, due to bad diet, bad environment, every possible disease and she is on every prescription possible. She has been scammed.
I refuse to be scammed into another biopsy, because of dense breast tissue and calcification.
There is a new dense breast tissue ultrasound machine that I might try, but NO to mammograms, chemo and radiation! So many other options in this day and age.
How about diet? Clean living and rational thinking!
So thankful for TTAC and some sane rational thinking!
And THANK YOU for watching the video and empower yourself with life-saving knowledge, Janette! Feel free to help us spread the truth by sharing the post with friends and family. Have a blessed day.
Hi,
But what then is the alternative risk-free test.
Best regards
Thermography. It uses infra red light to detect minute breast changes 5 to 10 years in advance unlike mammograms which are famous for giving out too many false positives as referenced by the article above. Also, the breasts aren’t “squeezed” under steel plates which in itself can cause tremendous damage to breast tissue and cause injury to tissue that might be malignant, spreading cancer even more rapidly. I have been getting a thermogram since 2012. Much more accurate and completely non-invasive.
How do we check for breast cancer then? Thank you!
Hello, Kimberly!

Hi I am a doctor who was diagnosed stage 1 invasive carcinoma node negative Estrogen + progesterone + and HER 2+ – I went through the chemo and radiation recommended took multiple supplements and IV therapies and didn’t have any fatigue, hair loss, etc – but psychologically very damaging. Had fibrocystic breasts going forward will get thermograms but not always diagnostic. Had a repeat mammogram and ultrasound right after chemo which was negative, cancer markers negative but recommendations will be yearly mammograms – since I am not stage 0 how would you advise me
Hi Annette,
Thanks for sharing your story with us.
We would suggest speaking with a trusted medical professional about this. Here is a link to information from experts that we interviewed in our series: https://thetruthaboutcancer.com/experts-info-sheet/
Sending healing vibes your way!
Due to financial constraints of loss of a business on my husbands side and me being retrenched over the past 10 yeas we have had to curb our expenses to survive inflation and life. Also meaning of medical aid/insurance change over. As a result I have not been for my gynea check ups in 3 for a pap smear or mammogram ect. I am 54. Now reading this I don’t want to do any of that thank you. I would rather go natural route ect. So now what I do. Please advise.
Kind Regards
Carol
Hi Carol,
We are sorry to hear about what you and your family are going through. The best advice we can give you is to consult with one of the doctors/experts that we interviewed in our Global Quest Series. Here is a link to get their information: https://thetruthaboutcancer.com/experts-info-sheet/
This has made me wonder what other screening is biased? I was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma in situ, and the doctor told me that it wa aThe most aggressive form of cancer there is and that the protocol was a radical hysterectomy. I declined the surgery. Later I was told by a different doctor that adenocarcinoma in situ is actually a description for PRE cancerous cells.

I only wish I had this information in 2009 when I was diagnosed with DCIS, first in February, followed by a lumpectomy and radiation. I then received a 2nd diagnosis is August the same year, unfortunately followed by a mastectomy. I have researched since to be prepared if there was the possibility of more cancer. I tell as many people (THAT WILL truly HEAR), I would not do the same thing now, because I am informed, not afraid. I am for “food for thought”. Make sure you research first, before jumping into any treatment. There is so much more awareness and proven alternatives.
My sister was diagnosed with DCIS 9-10 years ago, left breast. They removed tissue and tried to talk her into chemo. She said no, but accepted radiation. About seven years later, a tumor turned up in her left lung, barely a stage 2. Pneumonia had set in which is why she went to her Kaiser doctor. They put her in an oncology unit versus respiratory ICU. They kept trying to talk her into chemo. She died of pneumonia at shift change on a Monday morning two weeks later. Death cert stated breast cancer as cause of death. Right.
What about Sono-Cine ?
What are your qualifications? A very informative article. What is the alternative that is safe for breast cancer screening? History of cancer throughout my whole family… sister had breast cancer.
Hi Maxine,

Do not forget that the government is also testing wepons on women, they target micowaves, into brests, and small organs close to surface, and it reacts with the metals in body, along with dropping litium I. Air that is breathed into lungs and you know what’s happens when you put metal in a microwave…the silent killer.
Have always been fearful of the medical community since a child – A innate awareness and I still feel that way. my beloved passed away from colon cancer 2.5 years ago. Having the feeling I do re medicine in some respects, we researched non- traditional methods of treatment when told of the cancer needing additional treatment.. The chemo administered was done in AZ and only administering 10 per cent of traditional chemo. My son-in-law diagnosed with lung and brain cancer 6 months ago is following the traditional methods and now hospitalized due to the side effects of the radiation. Speech affected wrong words coming out. cannot read, or maybe he can read but not pronounce words I do not know at this poit, but there isn’t much that can be done at this point. Your belief system and understanding and sharing is to be commended – Those who understand where you are coming from are blessed.
WOW! I am scheduled to have a mammogram this Thursday. Now I do not know what to do!!! What do you suggest?
…So I can see why we are almost always being pushed to have mammograms! Wow!
I can’t believe this this was exactly what I had. Stage o DCIS. Got a lumpectomy with like 5 weeks of radiation &now taking Tamoxifen for 5 years.I’m soooooo angry right now.Again it’s all about the mighty $$$!!!!!!!!! And I can remember even saying something about why 5 or so weeks of radiation that everyone seems to get!One size fits all!! No one could answer my?.
My gut feeling has always kept me from having mammogram tests except once bc I had some small cysts. I WILL continue to stay away from them.
I have instinctively felt that I should not be having mammograms, even though the National Health Service in England offer them to women at set intervals during their lifetimes. The final factor for me not to have a mammogram was when my mother’s breast was caught in the machine along with the NHS assistant’s hand and both were screaming for help at one of her regular mammograms! I felt how antiquated this whole process was and that there had to be a better way to detect cancer than this out of date painful barbaric system.
My mother has had cancerous and non-cancerous lumps in her breasts for over 40 years. As a teenager, over 34 years ago I chose to be as natural as possible in my skin care products, household products and food and life style, but I am no Angel and I could be living more healthier all round. Have I had cancer? Not to be knowledge, I have not been diagnosed.
Now I am beginning a further ‘cleansing’ and detoxification’ programme of my whole life to once again improve my Self and my Environment.
I’ve always wondered about that and the way the machine squashes them can’t be good at all. I’m due to have one but I’m not getting it now there’s something very morbid about looking for cancer when you are healthy.
I guess you never knew someone with MBC. I am dying from it.
Yup! That is why I opted to do an ultrasound instead it’s not as invasive. Even the technician told me mammograms have a higher risk of getting breast cancer.
So how are women supposed to “catch it early”. I’m confused on what tests are safe for detecting it in its early stages. Thanks!

Thank you for supporting our mission and sharing the truth!
I recently had a Lipo Sarcoma removed from my upper right arm and was diagnosed stage 1. After removal, I was scheduled to radiation treatment for a total of 45 sessions. On or about the 26th session I was severely burnt and had a recess on the therapies for a week. After continuing with radiations, was burnt again so the Oncologist discontinued the treatment. My question is did I really need it the treatment?.
I had a mammogram done Oct 2015 and have not been back for another one, thankfully it was ok, but I do have fibrocystic disease and dense breast tissue. I’m really confused about if I should get another mammogram like my gynecologist wants me to. It really scares me to be so confused about what to do.
Hello, Tammy!
Thank you for being here with us!

Have a blessed day.
So I have my first mammogram scheduled (age 55), due to a lump in my breast. Should I just get the ultrasound and forget the mammogram?
I have had mammogram every year for 15 years. I read up that they could be bad for you so I asked for a ultrasound instead. They refused. They would not give me one. Said they would only do a breast ultrasound if the mammogram found something wrong. I skipped my mamo this year and debating what to do next.
I am 61. I have never had a mammogram and never plan to. However, I do thermography each year. It actually catches cancer 5-7 years before a mammogram can. It isn’t covered by standard health insurance, but in the Atlanta area you can get one for $185. You can even get a full body scan for $350! It’s totally painless, very comfortable, and the full report is emailed to you in several business days.
Hi Donna reading your comments please I would like to find out more about that thermography in Atlanta if you could share it please thank you
Dear Sir, Assuming that this is the actual fact of Mammograms, what do the ladies do? do they refuse the ‘tests’ ? and if a lady has been Screened, and found to have a cancer… what then? are there answers with proven documentation for these people to use as an alternative?
thanks and Best regards
Terry
You’re pushed to have mammograms because early detection could save your life!
This needs to be out there much more, iv always said so much money involved as there are cures for some forms of cancer but people not given the treatment through greed, this is really scarey reading but people need to no.
Thank you Maureen for watching and empower yourself with life-saving knowledge! Feel free to help us spread the truth by sharing this video with the Share button above. Your support is much appreciated!
Why don’t you answer the previous ladies questions also?
So what do you suggest we do??? Never do mammograms? Do ultrasounds? Thermography?
Stop living in fear would be a humble suggestion .
Stop watching TV would be a second humble suggestion
Drink clean mineral hydrogen water
Avoid GMO foods
Detox gently but regularly
Sleep in Peace
Love much
So what ‘s the alternative for testing?
Hello, Donna!

Customer Success – the link you keep giving comes up with the response “Sorry, no content matched your criteria”. Please update the link to the article – we are desperate for a safe (& accurate) alternative to mammography!
Hi Pat,
Sorry about that! Here is a better link for you: https://thetruthaboutcancer.com/breast-thermography-video/
I only had one mammogram — 20 years ago. I was appalled at the pain and vowed never to do that again. I do thermography instead, but as a Reiki teacher and practitioner, I teach how to give healing energy to the breasts & lymph system, and self-check often. It’s also important to understand the dangers of anti-perspirants, body lotions and underwires in bra’s. I read years ago how it’s barbaric to put radiation into our bodies to detect or “cure” cancers — yet the medical establishment keeps pushing these things and ignoring other healthy cures and practices.
Thank you for your thoughts, comments, and support to spread the truth, Wendy!
I have had numerous mammos over the years. Now almost 73, I am so thankful for this information. Conventional doctors (even female doctors) always push us to have yearly mammos so It’s frightening to think how many I have had in my life! I will probably get resistance when I go for my annuals with these doctors, but I will hopefully have thermography done instead hereafter. I have fibrocystic breast disease so I think I need some kind of diagnostic exam. Thank you for the information. I will pass it on to my friends asap!!!
Joan
Hello, Joan!
Thank you for thoughts, comments, and for sharing the video and information with your friends!
Have a blessed day.
I have been doing the thermography for some years now as preventive, but the doctor who writes the subsequent report always says that another form of screening should be done since thermography is not “diagnostic.” It only shows where activity (“hot spots”) are.
What can you suggest? Also, I am currently in a situation where I could access “free” screening (e.g., a scan) but they will not pay for it until and unless I first have a mammogram!
Hello, Gail!

Hi,
I’d like to know the title of the article referred to by Ty and published in The New England Journal of Medicine.
Thanks!
I would really appreciate it if you would link to the studies you are citing in these articles. All of the links just go to another TTAC article. I need some real studies to take to my doctor when I propose an alternative to traditional screening. It would also lend credibility to your site if the studies are cited right with your articles.
Hi Michele,
For our articles we do have a sources and references tab. We unfortunately don’t have the links on the videos right now. We may in the future!
I had my first ( and last) mammogram several years ago. My doctored recommended it. Well, what was supposed to be a couple turned out to be a dozen pics, since the doctor saw something he couldn’t make out. I already knew the additive affects of radiation, having had several severe sunburns as a kid, dental xrays, etc. They then sent me to get a sonogram, and that doctor said it didn’t have the characteristics of cancer, not to worry. I thought about it and realized I had a severe infection in that breast from breastfeeding my youngest child. I wondered if that was scar material. After about a year, after no contact from my family doctor or others, the doctors called me in to get a biopsy. I thought, why now, after saying it was ok, to wait a year to call me back. I got a needle biopsy done and met with the surgeon telling me what to expect from surgery. Even my family doctor seemed uncaring, like it was my fault that I had waited for my first mammogram (I was 41). I had to go back to her because of a breast infection I had gotten from all this testing. I was a nervous wreck. Medical people leaving personal messages on the phone that I didn’t want my kids to hear. One son was studying for a test to get into med school, the other was taking the SAT soon and I didn’t want them to be worrying about me at this point in time. I finally received the phone call that my test was negative. I was very relieved, but extremely PO’d at the whole medical system. It just seemed so disjointed and uncaring. After this, I began researching mammograms on the internet to find other options. I would not wish this experience on anyone.
Wow – what a journey! This must have been so tough for you, Alee! We’re so sorry you went through this and we hope you’re doing well now.
Blessings and love!
