Video Transcript: The Hidden Reasons for a non-GMO Diet
Jeffrey M. Smith: The good news is this. Actually its terrific news. People, when they stop eating GMOs, they get better from all sorts of diseases and disorders. And we interview them and we hear about it all the time. When I speak to a room full of say, 500 people, dozens and dozens of people will say, “Yes, I feel better and got better, symptoms went away when I switched to non-GMO foods.” And it’s completely predictable which categories of diseases and disorders get better.
The one that is far greater than anything else is gastrointestinal. And you have things like immune system problems like allergies and asthma and autoimmune disease, skin conditions, headaches, including migraine headaches. People lose weight when they stop eating GMOs. People who couldn’t lose weight before, many of them. We have mental problems like brain fog, depression, aggression, and we understand why that may be the case.
We understand why, for example, consuming Roundup might cause mental problems because the gut bacteria normally produces tryptophan and tryptophan is a precursor to serotonin, which is important for mood. And the tryptophan-producing metabolic pathways dismantle with Roundup. So if you’re cut short on serotonin you might have problems with depression.
You also might not feel full when you eat. When you get to a certain point it’s this tryptophan that kicks in and says “I’ve eaten enough.” Without that you can just continue to eat. It’s also a precursor to melatonin and so you may have problems with sleep as well.
So the gastrointestinal problems, immune system problems, reproductive disorders, organ damage, all these things that people are talking about getting better from when they get rid of GMOs, those are the same categories of diseases and disorders that afflict the lab animals fed GMOs. And it’s described in the review study by the American Academy of Environmental Medicine who said these animals are causally creating these disorders from eating GMOs and every doctor should prescribe non-GMO diets to their patients.
Thousands of doctors are telling their patients “don’t eat GMOs” and many are telling us that the patients are getting better from these same disorders and diseases.
