You might know it as “first milk” or “mother’s milk” but the biological name for this precious liquid is colostrum. Colostrum is a nutrient contained in the breast milk of nursing mammals. In fact, colostrum is critical to an animal’s optimal health and life expectancy. If a newborn baby calf or fawn does not receive colostrum from its nursing mother within several hours, the infant may likely die or face lifelong health concerns.
How does colostrum impact human health? A mother’s milk is most highly elevated in colostrum during the first few feedings of breast milk and signals to the newborn’s immune system that a time has come where it needs to fend for itself. This same serum which is necessary for survival in mammals has been shown to have an extraordinary effect on human immunity and the ability to fight cancer.
The Benefits of Colostrum
1. Colostrum: A Critical Source of Nutrients
Physicians observe a direct correlation between formula feeding and a dysfunctioning immune system in children. Unlike colostrum-containing breast milk, formula does not contain the same source of nutrients designed to equip a newborn’s immune system with the right tools. In fact, formula is believed to increase the risk of the following health conditions:
- Colitis
- Allergies such as asthma
- Childhood cancer
- Chronic infections such as urinary tract and lung infection
- Infant mortality
- Type-1 Diabetes
The act of breastfeeding does more than create a connection between mom and child. Breastfeeding aids in the development of an intricate immune system. Bioactive compounds help to develop tissue and organs, of which the gastrointestinal tract may be of greatest importance and priority.
At birth a baby receives most of the immune defense properties it will require throughout life. As a newborn ages the mother’s milk becomes less concentrated with immune-boosting colostrum. While these protective properties are critical at birth, colostrum can strengthen the immune system throughout all stages of life.
2. Colostrum: Required for Immune System Development
While in a mother’s womb, a baby receives all of the immune regulating factors it requires by mimicking the same defense mechanisms of the mother’s immune system. This is because immune defenses such as autoantibodies are supplied through the placenta. Before birth and during labor, different types of antibodies are transferred to the child which will strengthen the newborn’s own immune system. The final part of the equation is the feeding of breastmilk designed to initiate stem cell proliferation, gene function, and the development of a strong immune defense.
3. Colostrum: Contains Anti-Inflammatory Activity
Lactoferrin, a compound contained in colostrum, is a protein required for the metabolism of iron. Organs and cells in the body have receptors for this protein to bind to and inhibit autoimmune responses and inflammation triggered by problems like leaky gut.
Lactoferrin activates T-cells, regulates antigen pathways, and promotes enzyme activity. Lactoferrin also exhibits strong antioxidant and detoxification properties which reduce systemic inflammation. As a result, the existence of lactoferrin in the body inhibits inflammatory immune responses and may reduce the risk of cancer and disease.
As a result of lactoferrin’s ability to reduce inflammation and scavenge free radicals, colostrum containing lactoferrin protects the body from invading compounds such as pathogen-containing water and food supply, and chemically preserved and antibiotic-ridden foods. The lymphatic system becomes less hindered by toxic compounds pushed from the intestines and into lymph nodes. As a result, colostrum may also reduce the duration of cold and flu-like symptoms.
4. Colostrum: Contains Antimicrobial Properties
A peptide known as human beta-defensin-2 (hBD-2) has been found in colostrum from human breast milk. HBD-2 boosts immune system activity by defending against possibly fatal bacterial infections. Colostrum is associated with the reduced frequency from infection of the following bacteria:
- Acinetobacter baumanii
- Pseudomonas aeruginosa
- E. coli
- Salmonella
Another antimicrobial property found in colostrum is T-cells. Specific T-cells are designed to detect foreign microbes and prevent against pathogenic bacterial overgrowth and infection. Stress can leave our immune systems susceptible to an attack from foreign bacteria and therefore it is crucial to maintain the integrity of the gut microbiome. Colostrum can reduce the risk of this occurrence and protect the body from bacteria-induced inflammation and an autoimmune response associated with Crohn’s disease.
5. Colostrum May Treat Metabolic Conditions
Patients with metabolic syndrome, including those with type-2 diabetes, may benefit from the supplementation of 10-20 mg of colostrum daily. Colostrum may heal liver damage, reduce fatty acid levels, decrease postprandial glucose spikes, and better regulate insulin production.
6. Colostrum: Exhibits Cancer Defense Activity
The immune system is the body’s best defense mechanism for maintaining the health of the whole body. Comparable to a surveillance system, a strong immune system requires numerous factors to function properly. Colostrum promotes the development of a strong immune defense and can equip the body to defend against cancer.
Colostrum Activates GcMAF Production
A specific colostrum relating to cows − bovine colostrum − activates the production of GcMAF in the human body. GcMAF (vitamin D-derived binding protein macrophage activating factor) is crucial for a healthy functioning immune system. GcMAF repairs tissue from damage, and supports the immune system in preventing infection, including the growth and spread of cancer.
Specific cancers related to GcMAF production include colorectal, bladder and ovarian, among many others.
The production of GcMAF stimulated by bovine colostrum can help treat chronic fatigue syndrome and prevent infection. Although further clinical testing is required, colostrum may be recommended as an immunotherapy strategy without unintended side effects.
Bovine Colostrum: Conflicting Evidence
Research is unclear regarding the mechanisms by which colostrum from cows can be used to supplement health in humans. Conflicting data suggests that “hyperimmune bovine colostrum” from cows treated with vaccines can be easily absorbed by the human gastrointestinal tract and used to strengthen our immune response, but more research may be needed. However, encouraging clinical results show that the lactoferrin in bovine colostrum does in fact activate cytokines, cell proliferation, and boost detoxification in humans.
Tell us about your experiences with using colostrum.

JoAnne Dyer says
I give my raw fed pups bovine colostrum everyday with their meals. I take it too once in a while.
Where do you unbound colostrum? What form does it come in?
How much do you give them? How much do they weigh? Thank you
So how would adults find/get human colostrum that isn’t being used for a baby?
Look up cellect.org and give them a call. He has a wealth of information on his one product that he promotes for everyday use and especially for those with cancer. This product contains colostrum along with some other vital nutrients. The man that developed this formula, I believe is and engineer as well as a doctor.
Where can you buy the highest quality of the product? I know Velara sells this I believe.
I have taken bovine colostrum for about 2 months I feel that it helped my planters facetious heal however I experience about 5 pound weight gain, my eating and exercise remained the same. I’m still trying to take the weight off it been about 3 months since I stopped the colostrum. Has anyone experienced the same ?
I had my first baby at 40 and second at 42. My first was almost exclusively breastfed and my second I am still nursing exclusively. Neither one have had any problems, and my second was one month premature. Not one fever over 100 degrees, not one ear infection. Nothing. Im sure also the fact that they never went to daycare and both my husband and I wash our hands all the time helps. We have been blessed. Mothers milk is truly amazing.
This information is Very confusing
I have Multiple Myeloma ( latent) and have been told to STAY AWY from dairy product which, I believe inlcludes cows. !
Proffeseur Henri Joyeux. in France, who I’ve had the privilege of meeting., In case you don’t know he is a world famous cancerologist, told me that I should not consume dairy ( anything ‘ cow’) but OK with sheep/goats. ,
I know from keepiong sheep that |Colustrum is vital If you have an orphan l;amb. ( I have personally feed such a one) who survived ..
So maybe sheep colustrum is OK?
It is certainly not the same as cows. More research needed?
I do know that a company called Mt. Capra makes goat milk colostrum; you can get capsules or a powdered form if you don’t mind the goat flavor. I’m pretty sure it’s a grass-fed product. NatureColostrum is also another good brand that is grass-fed and organic. I personally use a cow colostrum (grass fed) but I have heard the goat colostrum is great for those who don’t tolerate dairy from cows. After reading a few articles on the superiority of goat colostrum I may switch! Check out: bengreenfieldfitness.com/2014/11/little-known-nutrient-can-heal-gut-blast-immunity-roof/
Cow’s colostrum is produced for calves. The only way humans can get it is to deprive the calf of his or her mother’s essential nutrients. Surely the way to health is to have compassion for other beings and not use them for our needs regardless of the consequences to the calves?
I am so with you on that way … i do believe there are plenty of vegan alternatives.
That’s exactly what I was thinking wheile reading. How sad that we don’t just even take the calves milk but also the colostrum…..make me really sad, moreover as a new mom. Thanks for voicing this Vicky
I totally agree with you. We think of ourselves so much but never use creative means to use God’s given food for our immune system. Those animals and their babies need just as much nutrients and food as we do but we seem to take it away and let them die without any compassion for them. On top of that they are killed and eaten!! We breed them to overrun Earth creating so much of methane toxic gases. Are we really so self centered as humans? We center upon US never about the overall picture of what and who is living here on Earth???? I totally believe in the China Study! Observe all the mammals on Earth, we humans are the only species that still want milk after we grow up. Look at all the other species they know when they had enough of milk and their instincts are they can live very healthy lives with God’s given foods!
I agree. Eating/drinking any milk products deprive calves.
I respectfully disagree. A calf, unlike humans, is born with no immunity at all; therefore, without colostrum they would no survive. What farmers do is that they only take one or two colostrum milkings from the cow and the rest is for the calf. God has put this milk for us to benefit from it too. I would agree though that the method should be totally compassionate to animals.
That’s a pretty lofty position to take if you’re not fighting for your life. I have cancer and I will take whatever to kill it.
Newborn calves (and kids from goats or lambs from sheep) all get plenty of colostrum, because the mothers produce way more colostrum than is necessary for their newborns. The farmers make sure the newborn animals get their share! After all, newborns are absolutely necessary for the health and growth of their herds, and never, never does any harvesting of colostrum for human consumption take place resulting in depriving the newborn animals from getting their necessary colostrum. The production of the mother’s colostrum is abundant, and harvesting some for human needs helps to ensure the animal mothers actually continue to produce much more colostrum until their actual milk comes in. Anyone breast feeding a newborn baby understands this principle. Even human mom’s who desire to breastfeed. So, those of you who think collecting colostrum for human needs is somehow depriving a calf or kid or lamb from getting their colostrum can relax! Everyone benefits here! Newborn animals as well as humans! Its God’s way of providing for all the needs of both animals and people!
And why not tell us where it is easy to get colostrum?
I use it in a supplement from the company I represent. I’ll be glad to give you more information!
Iwould like to know how to buy it
Where ever you can buy raw organic milk staight from the animal you should be able to buy colostrum. Although colostrum will only be available in short supply and only from time to time.
I agree
I’d like to know
More and where to buy this
Radiant Life sells it. I get their emails, so I thought I’d check to see if they sell colostrum. Just type it into their search box, and it comes up.
Where can I buy this product.
A product from 4Life called Transfer Factor is one of the best sources available, good luck and great article!
You can just do a Google search. I know that Longevity Warehouse sells it and I believe Mike Adams’ (of Natural News) company sells it.
The best colostrum is from pethealthandnutritioncenter even though for pets it is human grade and from the first milking within 6 hours. Other colostrum products may say first milking but is more like 16 hours later.
not so, but agree that some companies supply colostrum in the form of whey protein powder, which is inferior, not to mention all the additives, I use Sovereign Lab pure bovine Colostrum
You can find Colostrum at Amazon. My favorites are Immune Tree 6 and Sovereign Labs. Good luck!
yes agree with your choice, all my research into the countless number of other colostrum powders identifies a host of other additives, milk powder and all sorts of vitamins which do not occur naturally in pure first milk colostrum
I buy my Colostrum at a General Nutrition store, GNC.
Sovereign laboratories is really good!
When humans drink milk (or milk derivatives or eat cheese) from cows, they contribute to the horrific veal industry. It’s a myth that humans need milk or dairy to be healthy. As a 61-year-old vegan, I’m healthier than my contemporaries AND I have the added bonus of living a humane life by not contributing to the cruelty rampant with factory farming and the slaughter of innocents. Your soul is as important as your body.
We get ours from the 4LIFE Research website.
Exactly! From comment G Clay? Where can we obtain colostrum?
Yes please tell us where & how we can get colostrum?
I read an article that said that Goats Milk is more like human breast milk than Cows milk. Is this true, and if so, why not mention this. Also is this article promoting milk from the supermarket or RAW milk? It is not that well researched for an article on milk.
You are not understanding the article at all. It is not an article on milk and nowhere does it mention raw milk or milk from the grocery store because that is not what the article is about at all! It is about colostrum and its importance and role for health. Obviously it’s going to focus a bit on human colostrum and breastfeeding because that’s the main way we should have all gotten the benefits of this amazing and life giving food as newborns. But far from all of us did. So you can use bovine or goats colostrum and try and get some of the benefits they mentioned in this article. If you want to read about whether or not you should drink milk from the grocery store or raw milk or none at all then good that specifically because this article has literally nothing to do with that. Two different things entirely.
My daughter takes colostrum with her probiotic to heal leaky gut. Her holistic gastrointestinal doctor told her it helps the probiotic work. He recommended a high quality Colostrum by Da Vinci (Laboratories of Vermont) which can be purchased at Amazon.
so, so expensive, actually incredibly expensive, consider pure 100% colostrum in powder form from Immune tree or Sovereign Labs
Overall, its great to get this amazing information, but how do decide what brand to buy and how much to take?
I have begun buying bovine colostrum from an Amish farmer. I have also bought some powdered bovine colostrum from Ax Naturals (Dr. Ax).
Amazon has one for $99 that has a lipid encapsulation so it’s more bioavailable. Ounce for ounce compared to othets its actually cheaper because less waste. If you leave a review 2ND order is 25% off.
Using a scoop a day for mom who is stage 4 breast cancer post chemo and finally went natural. She has gained muscle, strength, health.
The lipid layer makes it easy to add to liquid. Takes good too. Creamy.
I used another brand before and it was good but hard to mix in cold liquids.
I’ve been using a nutrition system that contains un-denatured whey protein and colostrum from New Zealand cow’s (milked only in season and grass fed, free of antibiotics or horomones).
I used to be at the doctor’s office 3-4 times a year for various infections or allergies. I have been fueling my body with this nutrition for a year and a half, and have only been for annual well visits since starting.
Great, informative article! Thanks!
Hi Caseys. Where did buy this undenatured whey protein
and colostrum from New Zealand cows? I’m thinking of buying some myself. You may email me on: annadellbiz@gmail.com. Thanks.
It is read that drinking cows milk increases threat of cancer is there any truth in it??
colostrum is not cows milk, colostrum is pre or first milk, (not milk at all) within the fist 16 hrs, then it ramps to milk
Does this mean that calves are taken from their mothers shortly after they are born, or do cows produce colostrum differently than humans? If they are taken away that would be disturbing to me and I’m sure many others like minded.
in a dairy situation, calves stay with mother cow for some hours in which time they access sufficient colostrum to ensure their life and health, mother has four teats with more than enough colostrum for one calf, generally, in past years, colostrum was discarded by the dairy farmer due to its high volume, now if the colostrum is from certified source, then it is sold and processed for human and animal use. rest easy, if a calf does not receive enough colostrum, it will more than likely die, this does not happen and is not the norm.
I have cows and goats. For years a local doctor sent me patients to buy colostrum in the spring time. There is one fellow who credits my goats with saving his life. Sick little babies, including my own , thrive on goats colostrum and get better. I poisoned my new born with the hepatitis vaccine and he stopped nursing. The goats colostrum I’m sure saved his life. I have never tried the cow colostrum, thinking it was too creamy and tastes funny but I might stop feeding it to the pigs in this case.
I save the colostrum in the freezer. I put it in ice cube trays , freeze them and shake them into a zip lock bag to stay frozen. When I need one I remove a cube and drop it in coffee, or warm milk and enjoy.
My integrative practice sells Colostrum-LD by sovereign Laboratories. It is a Liposomal Delivery formula by pastured cows. It’s expensive, but very high quality.
I take colostrum complete powder 10 MG everyday from Hotze Vitamins, for leaky gut, type 2 support, immune building, etc. It is working well!
Colostrum is designed for young mammals before stomach acid is formed. Is colostrum still absorbed effectively in humans when we have acids. Nowhere in nature is colostrum still produced after 3 days.
You have ignored or are unaware of the one family of nutrients that are responsible for almost every one of the benefits listed in this great article. The most active nutritional ingredient in colostrum, and mothers breast milk is the family of nutrients now known as glycans. There are whole new science wings in research universities built to study glycbiology or the study of these bioactive glycan sugars. They have little relation to the dangerous sugars we all get too much of but are sugars that build immune function to do all those things that are listed in this article. Please research a little deeper into what gives colostrum its true power. This family of nutrients is also what give Aloe its active ingredient as well as Kombucha and rice bran–all well known healing dietary additions.
Why no mention of the Swedish research (Svanborg & Svensson, Univ of Lund) that IDENTIFIED THE COMPONENT OF HUMAN MOTHER’s MILK THAT CAUSED CANCER CELLS TO SUICIDE (apoptose)….??
Multimeric a-Lactalbumin
That research started back in the early 90s and was STONEWALLED so the researchers went each step on their own Lund Univ excitement further til the internet got the message and even major magazines pandered the idea as needing to be developed into a PILL.. EVEN THOUGH ALL RESEARCH WAS WITH UNPASTEURIZED MILK…
Develop a pill..?!? which is how it was sidetracked from 2000 on… silence since then, when I saw the research on “The Cure” at Bergerac.tv a long time ago…….
Why should we take colostrum away from the calf? Doesn’t sound right to me. As an adult you wouldnt go on the breast and take it away from a human baby. We humans meddle too much, we’re too greedy.
I have a milk a milk cow when she freshens (has her calf) there is plenty for the baby and enough to share. I always let the calf have as much as it wants and freeze the extra. She has to be milked for her health.
You wouldn’t say that if you had cancer.
I have taken it several months but never noticed any improvement
check the purity and what are you trying to heal? sometimes we ask too much and colostrum may not be the healing agent. again, check the purity, cheap colostrum is not colostrum, usual cost is around $100 per 450-500 grams of pure powder, the larger the volume, the cost is a little cheaper
Have you considered whether BLV (Bovine Leukemia Virus) can be found in bovine colostrum? Recent studies (one of these studies was published by UC Davis last Fall) show that BLV is turning up in some human breast tissue and is in even higher concentrations in some malignant human breast tumors. Bovine colostrum was designed as a nutrient for bovine calves, not baby humans, and especially not adult humans. I think that I’ll pass on the colostrum, thank you.
and fruit was for birds, vegetables for all sorts of animals, small fish food for bigger fish and the list goes on and on. Maybe, humans should eat humans alone not to offend others.
What brand of Colostrum to you recommend and where can I buy it?
My husband and I take Transfer Factor, the memory molecule from cow colostrum and chicken eggs. At first I took it to modulate my immune system to deal with debilitating allergies, but it also keeps my immune system strong to avoid or shorten common illnesses as well as diseases. Since beginning in October, 2002, neither of us has been sick at all. I am 73 years old and take no pharmaceuticals at all, but do take quality supplements.
Our adult son who has ulcerative colitis, but is allergic to all meds his gastroenterologist has prescribed so far, has had to manage his condition from an holistic approach. This is a blessing, because he also does not suffer from drug side-effects! He takes colostrum two tp three times daily and it has helped him with his immune response particularly to viral infections such as colds and flu, and along with taking boswellia and turmeric, saccromyces boulardi, and other supplements has greatly reduced intestinal inflammation and other painful colitis symptoms, and kept c-diff at bey. He developed negative allergic reactions to bovine colostrum, so he takes goat colostrum instead. He does have an intolerance to bovine dairy casein, so that likely is why he cannot tolerate the bovine colostrum. But he does well on goat colostrum, which likely is somewhat closer to that of human colostrum just as goat milk is closer to human breastmilk. Most info’ on colostrum seems to focus on bovine though, and he would appreciate more info based upon goat colostrum.
try colostrum from camel – the closest to human colostrum
I am wondering about the connection between hormones and milk, would colostrum also be a growth hormone? I have cancer of the breast.
Trouble is, non-organic American milk loaded with articially administered bovine growth hormone so should be avoided like the plague, growth factors are cancer troublemakers. Stick to breast milk, milk from the rest of the world or American certified organic dairy
You need to read The China Study by T Colin Campbell PHD regarding cows milk…
The best colostrum is from pethealthandnutritioncenter even though for pets it is human grade and from the first milking within 6 hours. Other colostrum products may say first milking but is more like 16 hours later.
Surely the cow’s colustrum is for it’s calf!
I have been consuming Bovine Colostrum for almost 5 years. If I could only take one vitamin or supplement this would be it. I always seemed to catch every cold or flu bug that came along my whole life. The colds would invariably turn into sinus infections which sometimes took several rounds of antibiotics to cure. Since starting Colostrum, I’ve had one cold from sharing a spoon with my daughter who had a cold at that time. Colostrum has substantially improved my quality of life! An unexpected benefit is my high blood pressure went from 155-165 over 105-110 to 115-120 over 60-70. Unfortunately my body adapted and the BP went back up after 4 years. My favorite brands are: Immune Tree 6 and Sovereign Labs, both available on Amazon. To learn the most about Colostrum go to the Sovereign Labs website. Good Luck!
I was introduced to cow colostrum through “4Life Transfer Factor” I am in Australia but it is a product of USA
There’s seems to be some confusion regarding Transfer Factor vs. bovine colostrum. TF is one of the components of colostrum which is filtered (patented process) and purified. The benefits far surpass those of colostrum. As a means of clarification and education, here’s an indepth article written by a New York physician who uses TF in his practice. Although a bit technical, one can see this remarkable protein can alleviate many health conditions, including cancer http://www.royalrife.com/tf/clinical.htm
Is there a difference between powdered bovine colostrum and hyper immune colostrum? How would you know the difference?
we are not cows so this product is not beneficial to us . just like cows milk . its composition is not similar to mothers milk at all. I do not agree
Collostrum isn’t milk and doesn’t contain milk, it’s produced before milk. How one reacts to milk mostly depends upon genetic makeup, and also gut flora. Collostrum has been known to fix intolerance and similar digestive problems. Studies have shown it works well against cancer, although goat is probably better than bovine.
What stores in Canada sell colostrum? Does it have to be organic?
Check out 4Life international based
in Salt Lake city
i agree with Mr. Rosenkiss, keep it in the Familie,I’m not Bovine !! Pinokio
I would think so with all the crap they give to cows now.
You can contact me, Silvia at vanjaopsteeg@gmail.com
If you want to stay healthy and to promote health buy only organic. Non-organic means herbicides, pesticides and GMO’s which means a cocktail for disease.
Okay, We know that there is a limited supply of colostrum (In humans it exists for only 3-5 days after the baby’s birth). I want MY babies to get whatever I have to give them, to minimize THEIR chances of getting those myriad diseases. Baby cows and other animals also need that “first milk” to survive and thrive (as it says in the beginning of this article). I have an problem with taking from one species to benefit another. Hence why I am a vegan. Later human milk is more readily available. Though less potent, it still has these components. How about asking a nursing mother to pump a bottle for you? You would also avoid the issues of milk allergies or lactose intolerance, especially if the mother is not consuming dairy.
I couldn’t agree more with Kim’s comment, as a vegan myself I would suggest getting human milk verses bovine milk for those in need. I appreciate all the work that The Truth About Cancer has done thus far with the exception of the continued consumption of animal products. There have been a significant amount of studies that show by eliminating meat and dairy you can reverse disease. The China Study is one source with a plethora of information on this subject.
Thank you for changing your mind and posting my comment, I think everyone should be able to give their opinion even in opposition to your article.
Totally agree with you. Leave the cows and their body alone.
In dairies the cows give a lot more milk than the baby can eat. The extra can be milked and used for other purposes.
Hi Annette, just like humans, cows would naturally only produce enough milk for what their baby can eat but cows have been bred to produce far in excess to what a calf could drink. Their babies are always taken away from them soon after birth so that all the milk can be used for humans. This causes such anguish for both mother and baby. So much suffering for a product that we don’t need and often causes many health problems. We are the only species that continues to use milk into adulthood and from another species as well. It is not a ‘natural’ product as the dairy industry would have us believe.
Thanks, Kim, for bringing this up. I, too, am a vegan for similar ethical issues. I posted a comment to this article but they chose not to print it. So I’m glad they printed yours.
Mount Capra sells a goat milk colostrum that has really helped my child with her immune and digestive issues. They make it very clear in their labeling that they don’t steal the colostrum from their baby goats to sell to the public. The goats get first dibs, then they sell what’s left over. I think that is very humane for goats and for humans in need.
Sovereign Labs should be consulted: They have documented research on their colostrum products and have an excellent product for sale. Those in the health care field can purchase it wholesale. Our family has taken it for several years and as an R.N. and very involved in nutrition I would highly recommend the product. Having battled Lyme for over 3 years I implemented the colostrum protocol as part of my treatment. (I did not take /use antibiotics nor would I recommend that route–it isn’t reliable) and have been clear for nearly 6 mos. Colostrum is an extremely viable immune system booster–no flu shots for our house–Viralox or powdered colostrum is our “vaccine”— fantastic product now being sold in Naturopaths offices and many “knowledgeable” physicians offices also. Even with a casein allergy, I have had no issues. Go to: sovereignlabs.com—–
right on
Is there any difference in benefits between dairy/bovine colostrum and goat colostrum?
A tremendous difference..look at the size of a cow compared to a goat…that is why there is Lactose Intolerance…the cow’s milk is too strong for a 150 lb human (cows weigh around 1500 lbs a goat weighs around 125 lbs) Goat’s milk is the closest to human milk…We milk three goats a day and drink the delicious milk raw, I’m very healthy at 86, still riding my horse and driving the tractor…I attribute health to goat’s milk and other raw salads, goat meat, steamed vegetables and home grown eggs. etc….I should drink colostrum as we keep it in the freezer when a goat kids and has an abundance of Colostrum for three days….thanks for info…M Stimmel
We have it sold here in Ukraine in markets. And even the drug produced from it.
I have been buying Colostrum from the DaSilva Institute for 2 years now and I suffered with allergies for 30 years. Since on the Colostrum my allergies have disappeared. If I stop taking it for a week my symptoms return. I know there’s is Pharmaceutical grade and I’m getting what I pay for.
Organic, non-GMO 100% certified true 6 hour bovine colostrum is sold here in US. The calves get the portion they need for optimal health and the rest is harvested. Contact me for info. Great article.
Hi Linda! I would love to get the info on where I can get this bovine colostrum. My email is waxdivaok@gmail.com
I am a 40 yr old cancer survivor & I completely trust TTAC & the info they provide.
Hi Linda…
I have breast cancer since 1993 and I am still alive due to my strict diet. Have been reading everything I can get my hands on and recall READING about the mother’s milk way back, but never bought it. I would really like to know where you have purchased your Bovine Colostrum here in the USA? Just turned 80 yrs. old and still in very good health. I am going through a horrible period right now (Identify Theft) and my stress level is very HIGH. I need some support for my immune system, that’s for sure. Please be so kind and send me the information, I’ll be very grateful; My e-mail address is: heidihoose16@gmail.com! Stay healthy….thank you! Heidi
So bovine colostrum is withheld from the very calves it was meant for and sold to humans?
No. Not the company I represent, Anovite. It is a division of Immune Tree mentioned above. The calves get what they need and the rest is harvested for human consumption.
You can buy highly rated colostrum and egg yolk transfer factors from 4Life.
Allergy Research Group has a product called Laktoferrin with Colostrum. Capsules, 250 mg per cap.
Transfer Factors are the main reason colostrum is so good for you – in scientific studies TFs were shown to boost your immune system up to 437%….get them here: healthybodies.my4life.com

I appreciate your work and enthusiasm. Colostrum may have many cancer fighting properties and help support the immune system. But for people who already have cancer, substances that have cancer prevention or cancer fighting properties are simply not the the same as substances which kill cancer or are a cure for cancer (as you know). The two are not the the same at all. Many people go to your website or see your videos looking for cures for their cancer, which are actually very very few and far between. I am one of those people, having had thyroid cancer for about 25 years. My immune system and the good Lord have been the only things keeping me alive all these years. So far, I am not really sure I have found anything in the way of a cure. Even so, I will likely end up spending and wasting, a lot of money, time and effort with alternative methods just to see if they can work, for me, or at least help out in some way. However, that type of random, inefficient experimentation, relying on our own meager knowledge and judgment for any success, only rarely works out for anyone.
Check out Anthony William, the Medical Medium. He has been helping people since he was 4 years old. Look up Epstein Barr Virus, this is possibly what’s causing your cancer in the thyroid. On sound cloud you can here a radio show of Anthony telling you exactly what to do to heal this. There is also one on the thyroid it self I think. I wish you the best, you deserve to heal as quickly as possible.
There is not nutrient nor drug that can safely kill cancer without nearly killing the patient. The only thing that works to do that 24/7 is your own immune system Colostrum works to build immune function because of the glycans found in it. Build up your cell surface glycans and immune function will take over to rebuild or repair anything including cancer. Seen it work so I know it works.
I hear, be
Send dealing with breast cancer since 2012 and I feel fine it’s just at this tumor doesn’t seem to want to shrink and it’s getting a little scary, you’re trying everything I can and I’m sure the natural cures and God or helping me quite a bit but there is something called rerum by Bravo yogurt Europe, supposed to stop tumor growth in 2 weeks but extremely expensive, so I have to try to do something pretty quick
Kat,
The best advice we can give you is to consult with one of the doctors/experts that we interviewed in our Global Quest Series. Here is a link to get their information: https://thetruthaboutcancer.com/experts-info-sheet/
No wonder that the cow is worshipped as the mother of the universe in India and that milk from cows which are treated in a spirit of respect and no-kill is considered to be medicine.
Thanks Kim,
I left a comment in support of your comment and they have chosen not to post it. I agree 100% and yes….I too am vegan! It’s a shame they are censoring their readers.
Lol who is censored, half of the comments are vegans protesting because collostrum is “taken away from the babies” but actually it is produced in excess, way more than for the needs of calves. Maybe they just got tired of same ignorant comments.
Hello Lydia, you are correct, we try to let everyone express their view. That being said, we do censor any comment where there is inappropriate language, spam, or marketing. We might not all agree on everything, but we are all here to share our thoughts and experience in hopes of the healthiest community possible. Thank you so much for supporting us and having our back!
JoAnn, haven’t you heard? Cows have no choice and neither do their calves. Please watch, Cowspiracy, Earthlings or meat.org to further explain the realities behind the factory farming of animals. For medical information, The China Study is amazing!
I suggest you check “peer review” on the China Study….It’s wholescale quackery. People in Japan. who DO eat meat live far longer than those in China because their food contains a high level of Taurine…..The book’s research is superficial and extremely poor. Always check who’s doing the “talking/writing” The authors are members of PETA. Their interests are therefore not people but animals.
Colostrum is mostly digested in the mouth. All mammals have receptors for the glycans in the lining of the mouth. Some nutrients may get digested in the stomach but the important ones are absorbed in the mouth. Colostrum is for babies who have no swallow reflex. The colostrum is absorbed in the mouth to help build the systems that allow growth to develop swallowing and normal function. Bovine and human colostrum show very little difference. So you can use bovine colostrum and get the exact same benefits as using human colostrum
I fed all of my nine babies myself, it didn’t stop me getting breast cancer
AS for having to kill the baby cow/goat, that rarely happens on my farm because the cows naturally make more milk and colostrum than their babies can cover at first. Then as they grow and get hungry I time the milking so that they are separated for a few hours before milking time. I milk the dames and send the babies for a reunion after words, which increases the milk and everybody is happy. The goats and cows get extra food, the babies get love and mommy and lots of mothers milk and a little grain. And I am like a symbiotic being feeding them and eating from their wealth. Most goats make plenty of milk to feed an infant human and their own kid.
I sent an email. I have had great results with colostrum
PLEAE STOP sending comments.
What I was hoping for was a reply.
Colustrum from sheep rather than cows
There are no doubt many health benefits of colostrum. However, for some people, lactose and specific antibodies contained therein can cause reactions in some people. By isolating and extracting the main component of colostrum which affects immune response, a person cannot only achieve a better result (proven in independent studies) than colostrum as a whole, but they can avoid the larger molecules which may cause adverse reactions.
I know one person who was cured of lactose intolerance by taking colostrum. True. It is actually pre-milk and not milk.
I have breast cancer and am doing 100% natural/alternative, with no surgery, chemo, or radiation (although I am seeing conventional doctors for testing and evaluation – and they are pressuring me to have surgery etc.). I just started using colostrum from Sovereign Labs which seems very high quality. However, I thought I’d better do a bit more research, and I came across an article from Sloan-Kettering that says people with hormone-sensitive cancers should not use bovine colostrum because it contains a lot of estrogen. So now I’m thinking I should discontinue it after I use up the 6 oz. I bought. I figure that would give my immune system a strong boost and not be enough estrogen to really cause problems just from that one 6-oz. package. Tracey, how long has your mom been using the colostrum? It sure sounds like it is helping her, not harming. Is her cancer estrogen-receptive like mine is? I hope she continues to do well on it.
Teri, see my post above from Sept. 1st. You may want to consider this as you would avoid the other components of colostrum which could potentially give problems to hormone-sensitive cancers. I can be reached at health4u4life@aol.com for more information.
check your insulin levels, high insulin levels not only increases weight, but is a precursor to T2D.
I am not sure the website allows this, but I sell a high quality colostrum. The company is Anovite, a division of Immune Tree International. It is 100% certified organic, non-GMO. The answer to the calves is that they get their optimal supply first and the rest is harvested. No baby calves die in the process or are harmed. Bovine colostrum is 100X more nutritionally dense than human colostrum. I don’t know about goats or sheep, only bovine. This colostrum is taken the first 6 hours, any other kind is not colostrum, but a mixture of colostrum and breast milk. This is a high quality colostrum. Please message me for details. lindapbertram@gmail.com This product has had a beneficial effect on my body, as well. I wish you all the best.
Some folk responding here with comments indicate they feel collecting colostrum for human treatment is somehow reducing the colostrum available for newborn herd animals. That simply is not the case, because cattle and goats, sheep etc always produce way more colostrum and subsequent milk initially than required by the newborns. It is nature’s way to ensure plenty is available. Any responsible farmer will tell you it is OK to harvest some of the colostrum for human benefit without taking any away from what a newborn will consume. This overproduction of colostrum at the birth of a newborn calf has been understood for centuries, and colostrum was a go-to treatment of choice for digestive and immune conditions down through the centuries. God knew what He was doing in making sure His created herd animals with the ability to provide for both newborn herd sustenance and heath as well as for human health. So relax people! Those who understand and raise herd animals are aware of this factor. After all, they do want healthy animals in their herds! It used to be that entire classes of school children would go on a field trip to ranches or farms when calves or kids were born, and each child would often be offered a sip of the mother’s “milk” which was actually colostrum, with the comment that “it’s OK, Bessie won’t mind sharing with you because she has way too much for her little one.” The school child would therefore have a boost in their immunity along with the newborn! That truth is not taught anymore because such field trip benefits while at the farm for a day are not allowed anymore. Too Bad! Because perhaps there would be far fewer childhood and adult digestive and allergic conditions if this fun tradition could have been continued!
Thank you!
Here is where I get mine! Sovereignlabs.com
The calf gets fat pretty quickly, and myself drinking milk into my 50’s am gaining a pound a year, possibly glyphosate sequestration in my fat cells through the contaminated water, food or air I am exposed to. Also there is hormone changes natural and plastic derived. Remember, fat moves slowly and sequesters toxins common in our environment.
Glyphosate mimicks glutamate and carries all sorts of good things out of cells and bad things in. We are awash in the stuff and we must sue, litigate, try in court of you tube and law.
We had a couple of house cows when I was a teenager. My grandmother would pour excess colostrum into a deep baking dish without any other additive and bake it in the oven for about 30 minutes. The result was a wonderful creamy custard. She said it was a health treat.
She also chopped several garlic bulbs into a bottle of vodka. After a good shake of the bottle would have daily dose – about a dessertspoon.
Must have been good – she died at 92. Before GMO, big pharma, agri toxics, frankenfood.. etc…
As mentioned in another post, when milking the colostrum for humans the farmers only take part of the colostrum and plenty is left for the calve. The cow will also produce enough milk for the calf and for some human consumption as well. Anyone who has personally raised cows, goats, etc. will attest to this. While I personally don’t drink milk I do believe God put cows and other animals on this earth for a purpose; but He also expects us to treat his creations with honor and respect as well.
Quite a discussion here! The calves are not harmed, they get their share. The cow produces more than enough. I have seen the calf born and it is weak until it gets the colostrum, then they brighten up and stand up, fun to watch! The company I represent sells the finest organic non GMO certified 6 hour colostrum. If you have an interest, please email me.
I am happy to see the connection between cancer and colostrum. That is truly amazing.
I’ve been taking colostrum and GcMAF for stage 4 breast cancer, along with other things, and it has made a major improvement on my gut health and immune system! I agree that animal protein is not the best for healing cancer, I did take a course on plant based nutrition based on The China Study, however, from my experience the benefits from colostrum as well as bone broth outweighs the negative and has made a tremendous improvement in my overall health and well being! When you have hit the bottom with your health and have found something that makes you feel well again it will change everything you have thought previously.. I was vegan and was feeling worse and worse until I started healing my gut and have been NED 3 years now. Everyone is on their own journey with healing so I can’t advise anyone on what they should do only say what has worked for me.
Hello Carmen. I’m wondering how you are doing? Did you continue treatment with Colostrum and GcMAF? Did you have surgery or other treatments? I wish you great healing and good luck in your journey.
Hi,
if using the bovine derived colostrum to treat metastases of breast cancer, would the fact that it activates cell proliferation be a problem? Cell proliferation would be something to inhibit, wouldn’t it? So, would taking the MAF be counter-productive in this case?
Thanks,
Francine
I would like to hear any thoughts on consuming colostrum (a dairy product) with prostate cancer. I want to take advantage of the MAF but have concerns about the dairy aspect.
You can buy the vials of GcMAF only. There’re labs that have made extensive studies but always talk to your doctor about it. Don’t go to the first website that’s just selling the stuff. Look for the labs with scientific proof.

I am 68 years of age. I was getting pneumonia 2 to 3 times a year. I had flu shots and Prevnar 13 shots and still got pneumonia. I started taking colostrum about 9 months ago and have not had pneumonia since. I am at the tail end of a head cold, but previously that would have progressed to pneumonia. I highly recommend colostrum to boost immunity.
I am a colon cancer survivor for 22 years, as a survivor I take complete vitamin supplement ment Alpha Lipid Lifeline Colostrum as my maintenance everyday I feel better and it add my life.

thanks for the information
REALLY VERY NICE INFORMATION
Thank you so much, I really need to know this for my grandmother. I think it will work.
I am 71 years old. I was getting pneumonia 3 to 4 times each year. I had influenza shots and Prevnar 11 shots and still got pneumonia. I began taking colostrum around 9 months prior and have not had pneumonia since. I am at the last part of a head chilly, yet beforehand that would have advanced to pneumonia. I enthusiastically prescribe colostrum to support insusceptibility.
I think this is one of the most significant information for me and it is very useful and knowledgeable.
Thanks for sharing.
This is very informative and useful post for those who is suffering from this type of decease.
Thanking for sharing this kind of post.
I have listen in some people. they fasted for about 9 hours a day and his condition started improving.
He told that due to fasting, there is a lack of energy in the body, to fulfill which our body starts eating itself. And it eats the cancerous bacteria. Due to which our body improves.
Yes, it is true the Bovine Colostrum helps your body to create GcMAF however, most cancer patients have nagalese. Nagalese is responsible for halting your body to produce GcMAF. The only way to have GcMAF in you is by intravenous.
Can someone cares to respond to this article and can shed some light on this. I have cancer and I like the idea of oral intake of Bovine Colostrum to create GcMAF.
I also agree with you. Leave the cows and their body alone.
You Are Doing Great Work.
