A study published last week in the journal Cancer Research looked at the connection between sugar and cancer. The researchers found that reducing the amount of glucose available to cancer cells could be key for effective treatment. Cancer cells require lots of glucose to survive and must metabolize it quickly to generate energy. The researchers evaluated the potential applications of limiting the supply of glucose and restricting the ability of cancer cells to metabolize sugar.
It’s important to note that cancer cells are unique in the way that they utilize sugars. Most cells use a process called oxidative phosphorylation to metabolize energy. In the 1950s, Nobel laureate Otto Warburg observed that cancer cells use a different process to metabolize sugars. This is known as the Warburg effect.
Due to the unique way in which cancer cells metabolize energy, he noticed that low levels of oxygen were common in cancer cells. But the low presence of oxygen was a result of the way in which those cells metabolized sugars, not the cause of the cancer. Warburg summarized:
Cancer, above all other diseases, has countless secondary causes. But, even for cancer, there is only one prime cause. Summarized in a few words, the prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen in normal body cells by a fermentation of sugar.”
The focus of the new study, led by cancer researcher Arthur Dyer from the University of Oxford, was on manipulating that process to increase the effectiveness of cancer treatments. In particular, the research team evaluated the potential effects this metabolic manipulation could have on the efficacy of oncolytic viruses.
Oncolytic viruses are viruses that are meant to attack cancer cells while having no effect on healthy cells. These viruses, which are currently being evaluated in clinical trials, work by invading the cells and using the cell’s mechanisms to rapidly reproduce and destroy the tumor from the inside.
These oncolytic viruses may also help to trigger the body’s natural immune responses. The study of immunology (utilizing the body’s natural immune system to fight cancer) is growing field in the medical community, and a promising shift from the standard practice of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy that have become so common in oncology today.
The researchers found that the viruses were much more effective at destroying cancer cells when there was less glucose present. They further found that reducing the cell’s ability to metabolize glucose boosted the cancer-fighting properties of the virus even more. Lead author Arthur Dyer explains:
Our research in the lab showed that restricting the amount of sugar available to cancer cells makes these cancer-attacking oncolytic viruses work even better. We already know that this virus is effective against cancer – and this sugar-starving technique is a way to make it even better.”
Wow! We’ve talked before about the power of ketosis to combat cancer. Ketosis is achieved by changing the way we eat to limit carbohydrates and reduce the amount of sugar in our blood. Once in a state of ketosis, our body begins to burn fat by breaking it down into molecules called ketones. Unfortunately, the researchers seem to be sending mixed messages.
Professor Len Seymour, a co-author of the study, warns that diet isn’t enough. “…cutting out sugar won’t cure cancer. Because cancer gobbles up glucose so quickly, the cells are very vulnerable to attack from a drug that targets the sugar pathway,” he says. “The same effect cannot be achieved by eliminating sugar from your diet.”
The way I see it, one of two things must be true. Either changing our diet to limit foods that fuel cancer isn’t effective, or there is too much money to be made by selling drugs that restrict sugar metabolism. You’ve heard me say again and again that cancer is big business. The drugs that target these metabolic pathways are already being developed and put through clinical trials.
And you know what? They might be effective in starving and destroying cancer cells. But they’ll also generate profit. And as we’ve seen countless times, the medical industry puts profits before patients. The truth is that there’s no money to be made by simply telling patients to change their diets. Suggest that sugar and cancer are connected, and you’ll be told that you’re wrong.
And yet the research happening right now is focused on cancer’s need for sugar!
The case for ketosis is compelling. Not only can reduced glucose render treatments more effective, it can also stop metastasis (the process by which cancer spreads to other parts of the body). A ketogenic diet can also help reduce inflammation, which is at the root of most chronic disease, and boosts the immune system, which is the body’s natural defense against illness.

Thanks for all the information you share, so much of which is proving useful to me, so far 17 years past detection of prostate cancer. I’m still in the active surveillance mode, but still not well. I need to learn more and better apply what I’m learning, but am very grateful for every day I’m given another chance to do so.
In this sugar and cancer article, I noticed one little typo: Otto Warburg did his research on sugar as a source of oxygen for cancer cells in the 1920s, for which he received the Nobel Prize in 1931.
Best to you both and your entire staff in this upcoming year.
If you are convinced that an alternative cancer treatment is better for you, rather than chemo and radiation(the gold standard), where, in the United States can you get those treatments, and are any of them covered by Medicare and your supplement plan? I’m especially interested in Intervenous Vitamin C Treatments and some of the treatments using Turmeric. Can your allopathic GP refer you to a naturopathic physician without putting his/her physician’s license an/or malpractice insurance at risk?
Thank you!
Daryl Gebhart, To answer your questions….1.There are lot’s of “Integrative medical” practices around that do Intravenous treatments. 2. In most cases insurance will NOT pay for it. 3. Most allopathic doctors don’t want to know about it, so I would not count on them for any help in the alternative field of medicine/healing. 4. Re your “gold standard” reference, in what world is chemo and radiation the gold standard???? unless the word “gold” actually means “Money”! 5. As for being convinced, I’m convinced that since chemo fails over 90% of the time, and radiation fails almost as much, I would never recommend those kinds of treatments, however, since insurance in most case will not pay for alternative treatments, people do not have much of a choice, so they opt for the status quo, which over 90% of the time, kills them.
Hi, not sure about the turmeric, but the Gonzalez Clinic in New York city is well known for their use of Vitamin C therapy and a high dosage of vitamins and mineral supplements. I hear their success rate I’d astoundingly high. I am not connected to them in any way other than having received information about them. Good luck to you!!!
Herman,
Turmeric is widely considered a cancer fighter. It is used extensively in Eastern Medicine. It is considered one of the most important supplements by the naturopathic Dr I see. I take it in AM and PM, along with other supplements (yes, vitamin ‘C’ also). The supp’s I take are high potent, highly absorbed, natural, and not to be confused with the vitamins you get at the chain drug stores. Many of those are synthetic and don’t contain enough of what the bottle says to even be therapeutic.
As to the clinic you mention….remember, many say they have a high success rate.
Naturopathic medicine is not generally covered/approved by medical insurance, including Medicare. You can count on the cost to be out-of-pocket. Your best bet is to look for a medical doctor that also practices alternative medicine. There are becoming more and more of those.
I found a couple in my home town by searching online for an Alternative Medicinel Doctor or Functional Medicine Doctor. While he can’t make alternative treatments payable by insurance, He can treat you with an eye on the underlying cause rather than just treating the symptoms and many of the tests he can run are covered by insurance because he is also a medical doctor.
I’ve had stage 4 cancer for almost 5 years and doing great. I see an integrative dr at Cancer Center for Healing in Irvine, California. I get my treatments more locally. I pay for IV vitamin C at a naturopath. First I paid myself, but insurance has paid the last year, for hyperbaric oxygen at a hyperbaric oxygen clinic. My insurance covers Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy that O get at a chiropractor’s office. I’m on a plant-based ketogenic diet, detox regularly by coffee enema, avoid toxins as much as possible, and take tons of supplements recommended by my integrative dr. My cancer has been inactive most of the last 4 years, except it acted up when I stopped IV C and decreased oxygen.
The Gerson Therapy does the IV Vitamin C therapy but is located in Mexico, because the US Gov. did not agree with this practice. Charlotte Gerson took over the medical practice of her father Dr. Max Gerson, from Germany. I follow a plant based diet for my cancer treatment and am happy with the results as of today, 18 months after diagnosis. Watch The Truth About Cancer, anything you can find on healing naturally. I do not have the support of 3 out of my 4 doctors, but in my heart and gut, I know I am on the right path. Eliminating processed sugar and processed foods has shrunk the tumor by half in only 3 months. Follow your instincts.
I was diagnosed three years ago with tonsil cancer which had metastasized to the lymph nodes in my neck. I turned down the “gold standard” treatment conventional medicine offered and took ownership of this illness. I immediately cut out all processed foods, all sugar other than that found naturally in real organic fruits and vegetables. I cut out caffeine and alcohol and began a totally vegan and gluten free diet. I juiced five lbs of organic carrots, a stalk of organic celery and a Granny Smith apple. daily. Within a week, I knew the cancer was a thing of the past and something that I would never fear again. Within six weeks, all symptoms were gone. I am 62 and very actively involved in surfing, tennis and golf. I am thankful everyday that I did not succumb to the “gold standard” treatment. I will add that I no longer juice everyday, am no longer vegan but I remain fervent in avoiding processed foods and processed sugars and In addition, I daily supplement my diet with apricot seeds, B17, turkey tail, ashwaganda, astragalus and other cancer fighting and immune building supplements.
Take ownership, do your own due diligence and believe in your protocol.
Darryl
There is a lot of information backed with several authentic testimonies from individuals that the alternative is the gold standard.
Its overwhelming to read all but if you commit to reading about it you will be surprised by the truth you will discover with time. In addition to the link given here by the author I would recommend a book called “The best 10 cancer doctors in America ” It details the cost and the methods they use plus their address .
Hope that helps a little bit.
P.N
Daryl,
In July 2013, I was diagnosed with Thymic Carcinoma, and given 12-18 mo. to live. My older sister was diagnosed with T-C in the spring 2009 and was dead by Nov of 2010. It had spread to other areas in both of us (liver, L-Nodes, etc). I went from 175 fairly muscular lbs to 129, and at that point had no reason to think I would survive. Now, I believe I needed the chemo and radiation, but decided that I would also pursue, as well, a Naturopathic course of treatment. I have seen a PhD in Delaware, and continue to get my high-end supplements from him. I also got on the medical marijuana program. I take CBD oil (non-psychoactive), and cannabis (not smoked). My sister, btw, did not try alternative methods. We just went to the funeral of a friend who listened to her sister and brother-in-law and stayed with conventional treatment. We even took her to our Naturopathic Dr. After we left, she said…”he’s not a real doctor.” I just shook my head as we drove home.
BTW, the cancer I/my sister had is so rare that both my PCP and the hospital I go to for CT scans have told me they don’t know if there are any documented cases of siblings having Thymic Carcinoma. Interestingly, we were both diagnosed at age 65. She was 3y/3mo older than me.
Everything I take is natural. My question is….why would anyone be so stubborn-headed that they would NOT take everything they could to fight cancer?
The Truth is the Truth no matter what

Just to help a reply come, here’s the Google translation:

Your Cancer News Update article on the connection of sugars and cancer was a beautiful job.
However, I would like to suggest whoever wrote the journal article you cited could research further the dates of Dr. Otto Warburg’s research. As a clinical social worker with a whole-person approach, I’ve been telling clients for around 25-30 years that Warburg won the Nobel Prize for his research, which I thought was in the 1930s. (I’ve read elsewhere recently that we’ve known about this “for 80 years”!)
But his Nobel Prize acceptance speech was in 1931, I believe. He said we never have to fear cancer again. Is it correct that he said “Cancerous tissues are acidic, whereas healthy tissues are alkaline”? And that cancer cells can live without oxygen, in contrast to healthy cells?
But is the issue actually one of cause and effect? I appreciate your TTAC clarification (elsewhere) that cancer cells utilize “a more primitive form of respiration which utilizes sugar instead of oxygen.” The 1950s research would not be what Warburg was awarded the Nobel Prize for in 1931. Or did he actually come to that clarifying conclusion in 1931?.
I recently read that Warburg did further research on that issue of oxygen and the cells, or on the sugar fermentation. Was it in the 1950s? (If so, he deserves even more credit!) He died in 1970 at age 86.
An abstract of a biographical sketch of Warburg, by Angela M. Otto, states that his legacy includes “the identification of the ‘respiratory ferment’ and hydrogen-transferring cofactors and the isolation of glycolytic enzymes”, with his “hypothesis of respiratory damage being the cause of cancer. . .” — and its “implications for cancer treatment and prevention”!
You will probably agree with my impression as to why the medical establishment did not proceed to run with that information. it’s within the power of each of us to develop dietary and lifestyle habits that promote a state of ketosis. When we do so, there’s basically nothing for anyone to patent or gain profits from.
Blessings on your efforts, the most important of which, as I see it, is to educate everyone for prevention! I had a parent who died of cancer at age 53 in the 1960s. By the grace of God and stacks of information over the past 30-40 years, I’m vigorously healthy and about to turn 81. I’m not going to make the statement of Stephen Wright, the comedian: “I intend to live forever — so far, so good,” but I do plan to thrive through my 80s, at least! 🙂
Hello Ty, My father has advanced stage 4 prostate cancer. Sadly the cancer has spread to his bones, ribs, chest etc. The consultant has put him back on Zoladex to see how he goes. His P.S.A is 560 the highest it’s ever been. Please can you advise me any further to help him at the crucial time. Thank u
Hi Andrea,
The best advice we can give you is to consult with one of the doctors/experts that we interviewed in our Global Quest Series. Here is a link to get their information: https://thetruthaboutcancer.com/experts-info-sheet/
Wishing you and your father all the best.
I have a metastasized cancer which is not one of the most common ones: gastrointestinal stromal tumor. It doesn’t grow very fast and is not vulnerable to chemo, radiation, or, in my case, surgery, since it already had metastases when they found it. I don’t use sugar (except as a minor ingredient, as in ketchup) and don’t lose weight, even though I eat only two meals a day and one of those is well under 600 calories. Always get my 5 servings of fruits and veggies, usually one or two of fruit and the rest veggies. I don’t see how ketosis will help. Ty (or anyone), can you elucidate?
You need to research Ketosis. It’s not about the calorie deficit. It’s about eliminating sugar & other carbs. Your body will be using ketones for fuel, rather than glucose & you can get off the glucose train.
Also check out intermittent fasting.
Look up Dr Eric Berg on YouTube for starters
Dear pro-lifer
If I may add.
I belong to a Facebook group called ” keto recipes for beginners ”
Using the search function on their page , you can type in your question and anything relevant to that topic , which has been mentioned before will be displayed .
Many members will testify that this diet has reversed their diabetes . And inflammation , not too mention great weight loss ..
For myself , I’ve lost 58 lbs , have gained energy and a zest for life .
You’ll find the members very helpful .
Praying for your success

Hi Andrea,
I’m also sorry to hear about your father and the disease he has been afflicted with. My wife has a dear friend who also is battling Stage 4 Prostate Cancer that has spread in to his bones – & his PSA is around 500. We have ordered for them the 9 video series The Truth About Cancer – A Global Quest. They have watched the 1st 3 of the videos, (about 4 hrs) & nothing has been said yet about an effective way to treat this type/stage of prostate/bone cancer. Were you able to get a doctor/expert that can offer an effective protocol on how to treat & defeat this type of cancer?
Thank you
A study published last week in the journal Cancer Research looked at the connection between sugar and cancer.
I googled Cancer Research Journal and found lots of links, but none have an article about sugar.
Can you provide a link?
Hi Lawrence,
You should be able to find links to our sources by clicking on the Sources and References tab at the end of the article.
What about fructose, the sugar in the fruits? Is it harmless? Is there any study about fructose? Or maybe artificial sweeteners like saccharine and many others, and stevia natural sweetener, or I don’t know, brown sugar? Are all those, above mentioned, food for the tumor cells, in any way maybe more or less? I am definitely sure that saccharine is not very good choice for our body. What would be Your recommendation for sugar replacement?
Hi Olivera, good question. I’ve had a brain tumor and undergone to 3 surgeries. I have the same question. I look forward hearing from anyone that can help us on this metter.
Hi Olivera and Racid –
These are great questions. Regarding fructose and natural sugar alternatives, we have these two articles that may be helpful to you:
https://thetruthaboutcancer.com/foods-with-fructose/
https://thetruthaboutcancer.com/stevia/
You can also search for articles by keyword on our website as well.
If you have any questions about specific diets and foods that are best for your body type we’d recommend speaking with one of the doctors we interviewed in the Global Quest series so they can give you the most appropriate advice based on your mother’s exact condition.
Please note that we are not able to select an expert for you.
We’ve created a page with the experts’ contact info as it was available to us.
Here’s the link to the actual webpage:

We do have one more resource you may be interested in. During our Live Event 2017 series, Dr. Patrick Quillin suggested contacting The Institute of Functional Medicine to locate a practitioner in your area. You can find international doctors using the link below as well.
If you are interested, here is the link to search for a Functional Medicine Practitioner in your area: https://www.ifm.org/find-a-practitioner/
Hope you find this helpful. 🙂 Blessings and love!
Mr Tym and team
Thanks for the good work you people do to educated the Masses about cancer.. I lost my brother last year ..he had brain tumor
I feel I could have help but again one becomes overwhelmed by information here you don’t even know where to begin..
My Hubble suggestion would be kindly make a list of various cancers and a suggested protocol. That way one can proceed straight to where the needed is..
As you can see the above comments a family is watching the whole series of global quest videos yet they can’t find straight on what they are looking for ..
I can only imagine what they are going through..
I hope I have spoken the minds of many..
John
Hello
We are naturopathic doctors based in Leicester, England.
We use herbals, nutrition and intravenous infusions (such as Vit C, Ozone, DMS, alkaline minerals, Myers cocktail, Plant extracts like Artesunate, curumin and many others) also medical equipments to reverse cancer with fantastic success rate.
The main challenge for us is the damage caused by main stream treatments.
Hi Ty !
have you heard the treatment for cancer could also be because our bodies have an altered vibration pattern, and the way to get it back on track is to have sound therapy – mind humming it is called. Not knowing much about it, I read that we all vibrate at a certain frequency rating, and that if we can re-attach to our body’s frequency pattern, it will heal itself – no drugs or surgery needed, simply re-instating our “wavelength”
kind regards,
Michael A. Waters
Hi Michael,
We do not have information about mind humming at this time. I will suggest it as something our team should look into. Thanks!
Hello~ i am a stage 4 ovarian cancer survivor epitheial serious type. I also am a BRCA1+ genetic mutation. Sister, cousin and I were all 55 at time of diagnoses and now 32 yr old niece, also brca + . One was a vegan, one i diabetic and me i ate everything. I think it’s not sugar but the mutation that caused our cancer. Also 5 breast cancers in the family~ i have had a PBM
Sorry about your family diagnoses. The fact that you eat everything and the other two are diabetic or vegan is no basis for your conclusion because none of you used ketosis. You need to understand on a cellular level. Sugar is insidious. And like the person above who doesn’t eat sugar other than incidentally like in ketchup, you need to get real about where sugar is in your diet before you can say this is not a possible solution for you. Please do more research if you want to thrive. Blessings xx
my wife has thyroid cancer. she hasn’t had processed sugar for years. Only uses maple syrup and honey for sweeteners. We have recently cut out all meat and dairy, and no bread. we are also juicing every day according to Chris Wark’s suggestion. But this seems to go against what this article is arguing because of all the natural sugars in certain veggies and all fruit. Should we look into not juicing since it is mostly sugars? We are getting conflicting info. Thanks!
I really like TTAC, but I ask that you be more specific when you discuss Ketosis and the reduction in carbs. Vegetables and plant based foods are complex carbs and should not be reduced. Ketosis is meant to reduce & eliminate processed foods and simple carbs. I feel like some folks think a Keto diet is a license to eat as much sausage, bacon and fatty protein, butter, etc they can and that will severely damage your liver. You also cant reduce inflammation eating these foods. Your liver needs glucose and since this is a major detox organ you cant do without you might want to give it some fruit each day! I personally think the Gerson Diet is a better choice for fighting cancer.
I myself used this technique of eliminating sugar from my diet. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer with metastasis to the bone in June 2017. I feeling great in good health doing my remodeling work at 69 years old. I continue to manage the cancer through fasting and staying on a low carb keto plant-based diet. I have Incorporated other protocols as well as I don’t believe there is any one Magic Bullet for managing cancer.
So, once and for all: It’s processed sugars/carbs that need avoiding, but natural,fruit/dairy sugars are safe, or simply better?
Dr. Mark Stengler several years ago Wrote — “Say Goodbye to Chemo and So Long to Those
Harsh Drugs — Starve Cancer Cells to Death Instead”
A lot of WFPB recipes use Coconut sugar, maple syrup, molasses, etc in place of regular sugar, but I am wondering if it really is any better than sugar to use, or is there no difference, or is it worse?
Hey guys. Thank you dearly for all you do. Lymphoma here. Stage 4. Currently on ANPs. Can’t tell yet if I’m responding. Hoping so! Haven’t tried keto yet: feels tiring to keep up with and difficult to even know if I’m doing it right. I’m going to give it another look, though. Thanks again.
My husband is 75 and has Prostrate cancer that has metastasized to his bone. He had surgery 2 years ago to remove the tumor only to find out that had metastasized outside of the main tumor. He had some Vitamin C IV treatments, but it didn’t seem to do any good. He has a Naturopathic Oncologist that hasn’t been much of a help. Last year a bone scan showed that it had metastasized to 5 places on his vertebrae. He proceeded to have 5 treatments of radiation on his back and the pain he had been experiencing disappeared. Now we don’t know how much further it may have/have not spread. Is there a safe way to get an answer?? He is also having bouts with Vertigo, sometimes very bad but it always seems to be there. Also a slight headache on the right side of his head. Could these be signs that it has metastasized??
There’s an obvious logical disconnect in “…cutting out sugar won’t cure cancer. Because cancer gobbles up glucose so quickly, the cells are very vulnerable to attack from a drug that targets the sugar pathway,” If it’s so vulnerable to the sugar pathway then it will also be vulnerable to an absence of sugar. We know this from what our diet used to be (4 pounds of sugar per year, not half a pound per day) and the rarity of cancer then. What they are shouting about is NOT a cure for cancer but a way of making money from something that should be more widely known. The professionals are completely incorrigible and, in times gone by, this sort of immoral behaviour causing needless death would have earned them the guillotine.
Fruit contains sugar…. I’m. A surviver of breast cancer and liver cancer, I doed eat beef, pork or ham, don’t eat process meats either, I stick to chicken fish and salads
My instinct told me to distance myself from Ty Bolinger some time ago, even though there is some great information on the Truth about cancer series which we purchased at our health retreat.
I decided to click onto this article from my emails from Ty on Ketosis. Here it mentions in bold ‘The case for ketosis is compelling’ . Really??? ( Alarm bells ringing).
I clicked onto a link at the end of this article ( Ketogenic diet) and thankfully there was little research done on Ketosis and cancer, and mainly the brain in the research. And only 10 subjects with a trial is nothing…and needs to be incredibly controlled…for a significant amount of time with enough subjects. Then it would be highly debatable that this is beneficial long term’ because there are no healthy populations anywhere in the world who have lived ‘Keto’.
I don’t know why people are looking at Keto. I would think a far easier study would be to find all the people who have ever been on an Atkins diet long term to examine their state of health in respect to cancer among other thing. After all this restricted carbs the same way. The only problem with any of these studies is believing people…it is too difficult to isolate foods.
This is why the ‘Blue Zones’ study is the real definition of far more ‘compelling.’ There is no Ketosis here..the complete opposite…mostly carbs and no diseases including cancer.
In recent years ‘carbs’ has entered the mental asylum and has been blamed for all kinds of things – obesity, diabetes and now Cancer. Someone forgot to mention about good and bad carbs in all of this nonsense.
Our research and evidence points to plant based…this is what we have as the strongest evidence , and quite frankly disappointed that Ty Bolinger has jumped on the Keto train.
I totally agree with you.
I really liked yr point.its important to mention good or bad carb.if we peep into ancient history there people spent super healthy and long life without bizarre issues like obesity, illness, depression, infurtility type problems.etc. i think we should change our life style.
The doctors use sugar water. Mixed with meds to get meds to the cancer
As cancer eats it up,
May only work on certain kinds of cancer.
Atkins Diet and Keto are not the same thing. The Eskimo in Alaska native diet is Keto. Especially in the winter, no grains, not much greens growing.
I am very confused . . .I was all for the vegan diet, no fried anything, ate organic, lots of omega 3’s, great bowl movements, berries, low glycemic fruits, no sugar except on holidays. Did this for 2 years. My cholesterol, LDL, Triglycerides went up. Inflammation developed in my feet, spent 6 months on crutches. a year and a half ago I had b cancer, had surgery and all tests looked great for a year and then. . . cancer came back so severe even the Dr’s heads were spinning. I immidiately went to the Keto diet and the inflammation left by 80% out of my feet. I took a big gamble believing the vegan diet would be healthy now I’m in real doubt. I’m not so sure of the Keto diet either because it makes me feel severly light headed. Could it be that vegetables are the biggest source of food and starches and animal products should be in moderation? But we need them both? Today I’m taking large amounts of MSM, Turmeric, Ginger, DIM, Essiac tea, COQ10 in hopes of making it.
Hydrate more and add trace minerals to your liquids.
If you are dizzy eat something, but my bet is dehydration.
I use Trace Minerals no cramps, no dizzy.
How I know…when I contract my cafe muscles they never cramp.
Leg tingling, buzzing and jumps are gone for good.
Celtic sea salt and bk soda, water, iodine is also needed.
These are huge changes for very little cost.
As a clinical Nutritionist with breast CA bone mets doing lowest dose IBrance, neither am I convinced that keto is the great “savior.” I am a blue-zone believer, eat plentiful in omega-3 fats, avoid white flour products and sweets, (except pumpkin pie -ha!) and endorse plenty of beans, oats/flax, potatoes, nuts, seeds, sprouts, onions, broccoli, and a little plain yogurt/kefir for a healthy microbiome. Bowel habits are excellent. Bone scans remain stable, tumor markers are decreasing, and my energy is good. We do the best we can in an imperfect world. All thanks to God for His continuing mercies.
Well, pumpkin pie can be made with organic evaporated cane juice as the sweetener which is quite a bit better than refined white sugar, and use organic whole grains for the crust.
Norene,
Sounds like good information and a great approach!
Best wishes and success to you
Coach Joe
I have not read every single comment or seen any of the videos etc. I have one comment/question.
I met an ex-oncology nurse 5 years or so ago. She told me she was the head nurse and that 20 years ago “they” knew about cancer/sugar connection. I am so confused.
How do I find a very good holistic dr in my area I am in southern California 92675 with malignant Melanoma on my back I& also R Arthritis I need a very good dr to help me I started juicing as soon as I found out about the cancer I am juicing celery carrot &lots green was trying to follow the Gerston diet but then the potoatoes & tomatoes are to much for me RA I need help I have purchased many many kinds but I may be over doing it on the wrong vitamins I need some one to guide me to health
Hi Miriam,
The best advice we can give you is to consult with one of the doctors/experts that we interviewed in our Global Quest Series. Here is a link to get their information: https://thetruthaboutcancer.com/experts-info-sheet/
great info Ty. Thank you
I believe Sugar and Cancer has a connection because when a person has to take a PET Scan to see if cancer is in the body, sugar is injected to locate the cancer. The injected sugar goes directly to the cancer..
Ty has given so much info on diet and sugars to avoid plus weekly info on new discoveries on better treatment etc. all for free for everyone, so unselfishly.
There are many articles coming to my email from different health advocates where they give one hint for the right food to eat or drink one particular juice of fruit for certain disease, then they want you to listen to a lengthy video and in the end they want you to buy some book etc.
Ty gives you all info straight, then if you do purchase something, he gives a lot to charity then they cover the costs for articles, printing, handling etc. he genuinely wants to erase cancer and get people healed.
Thank you Ty and your wife and team to educate people on how to prevent, and the right foods to eat to help you heal this deadly disease Cancer.
Hi Amina,

Thanks for posting dissent and assent info.
Thanks Ty, I agree with your statements on cancer and sugar. I have read several articles on the harmful effects of sugar. My husband has CLL and is going to start on the drug Venetaclax. He had chemo only 3 years ago and now is spleen is enlarged and bone marrow biopsy show 90% cancer cells. Do you know anything about this drug?
Hello Betty,
Sending thoughts and prayers for hope and healing to your husband.
Unfortunately, we are unable to give any kind of medical advice.

I purchased the whole, complete set on the Global Quest paid a few hundred dollars plus exchange. Looked at some of it but would like your new offer on the food plan, but do t have a few hundred $ again to buy it. Sad that more of this kinda info wasn’t in the Global Quest.

I think the real point is that spending the time to clean up your diet, avoiding refined and processed everything is the first step to bringing the body back to its most resilient self. A diet of fat and veggies with a little bit of protein can put you into a state of ketosis. I look at history, the diets of mankind for thousands of years, that’s my science. If you think that modern day science is the end all and be all, let me show you hundreds of scientifically proven “wrong” hypotheses. Modern day science is not 100%, and if you read any of Siddhartha Mukherjee’s work you too will see that “proven scientific analysis” is often WRONG at the expense of lives. Through trial and error they get it “right” and that can take 40 years or more. We are so critical of simple concepts that have been around for thousands of years, people didn’t get chronic disease on the diets of a people 500 years ago. And as for the Blue Zone diet, the book spoke about many different diets around the world and several of them would be considered keto diets.
I thought I read everything about the Blue Zone diets, which ones were Keto? I’m done with the vegan diet and am looking for any keto related diets in the world.
Your article is very interesting about the link between sugar and cancer. I’m currently doing a research project in Biology about the subject. I am trying to find the journal on cancer research journal website, but struggling to find. Does anyone have a link for that journal about the glucose connection with cancer cells. Thank you x
