The world is facing an out of control cancer crisis according to the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. The incidence of cancer is on the rise while popular answers and options are limited at best. The mainstream medical community has all but thrown in the towel in the effort to turn this epidemic around. By still relying on chemotherapy drugs and radiation as the answers, they are destined to fail before they even start.
Cancer solutions are available at this very moment to those who seek the truth and act outside the box. As populations strive to understand cancer and how to prevent it, creative ideas are springing up to meet this need. The smartphone application (app) technology sector, for example, is introducing a slew of new cancer apps for the iPhone and Android smartphones.
These new apps are attempting to fill the void created by the public’s thirst for knowledge, and new found responsibility taken by proactive individuals who refuse to become another statistic. The question is: Are we witnessing a paradigm shift and major bridge towards preventing and curing cancer… or is this just another fad?
A Positive Step for Detecting Signs of Skin Cancer?
A daily practice of anti-cancer food and lifestyle choices, coupled with early detection remain the primary pillars for preventing skin cancer. Unfortunately for many people, individual steps for skin cancer prevention are not a priority for a variety of reasons.
The fact remains that for the majority of the world, early diagnosis is vital to increase the chances of survival. Here are three main focus areas this next generation of cancer technology works within.
- Data and Information Management: This approach takes already existing information on anti-cancer diets, statistics, lifestyle changes, and self-check instructions and combines them into various user-friendly smartphone apps.
- Reminders and Alerts: These apps usually sync with a smartphone’s calendar and reminder programs to better help the user stay up-to-date with their self-checks, appointments, previous data, and treatments.
- Diagnosis: This approach is by far the most promising and innovative. These apps are marketed as having the ability for early detection and daily monitoring of potential skin cancer signs and symptoms.
The remainder of this article will focus on this exciting new sector of skin cancer diagnosis.
Redefining Early Diagnosis of Skin Cancer
When it comes to an early cancer diagnosis via your smartphone, the focus currently is on signs of skin cancer. Due to the easy integration in which smartphone cameras can capture, record, and interpret potential skin abnormalities, an entire market has emerged. Leading the charge are popular apps such as SkinVision, Doctor Mole, and MoleScope, which all have similar protocols and features.
First, the user captures an image of their mole with the smartphone’s camera or enhanced lens attachment. Next, each program uses advanced technology to perform tasks that analyze things such as the Asymmetry, Border, Color, Diameter, and Evolution (ABCDE) of the mole.
From there, the image and analysis is saved so the user can track and record each potential skin abnormality. Finally, some doctors are enhancing existing relationships with their patients by allowing the collected information and images to be sent directly to them for further analysis or recommendations.
The overall impact appears to be the emergence of a self-empowering tool that allows anyone to play a larger role in their quest for a cancer-free life. In addition, this new channel is part of a developing trend that favors greater access and proactive communication in the doctor-patient relationship.
Where Technology Meets Reality
What should be made clear is that, at this stage in app development, a two-dimensional smartphone photograph interpreted by a computer algorithm cannot replace a full skin examination by a knowledgeable medical provider.
The other major drawback is the fact that these apps can give the user a false sense of security if a skin cancer diagnosis is missed or delayed, leading to a lack or delay of treatment. Given the fact that the current accuracy is still not even close to 100 percent, putting your health solely in the hands of these new apps could potentially prove to be fatal.
The current consensus is that this technology, as it functions at the present time, can increase the awareness and body consciousness of the user. Working along with your doctor, increased awareness and the ability to track and report most certainly holds promise. Yet a stand-alone system to replace a qualified healthcare practitioner still appears far from reality.
There simply is no shortcut when it comes to leading a cancer-free lifestyle. If you prefer the old-fashioned way, the ABCDE method of skin self-checks remains a time-tested technique for spotting early signs of skin cancer.

I’ve recently been diagnosed with BCC skin cancer and I’m scared and worried, with a lot of other emotions going on. Do you have any insight or information on skin cancer treatments. I’m really scared that I have it on other areas of my body too.
Hi Tracey,
The best advice we can give you is to consult with one of the doctors from our docu-series. You can learn more about them here: http://thetruthaboutcancer.com/experts-info-sheet/
It would be nice if this info sheet had the doctors’ locations beneath there photos. There are many to click on to find out they are too far away.
Thanks for the feedback Patricia! I will suggest this to our team.
Tracey, Firstly, I was in the same boat as you with my Mom (who I lost to uterine cancer in April) last December, but found no answers other than what you’d were told, to go contact some doctor off the TTAC list….The problem is, WHICH ONE Do you call?? Be at peace, everything will be okay. Check the list for the dr’s to see if they are in your home state and if they are there, make an appt asap. If not, search alternative naturopathic drs in your state, make an appt asap and make sure they have experience with patients that have BCC.
OR you can get on a PROTOCOL ASAP via the 31-Day Cancer Cure by Ty Bollinger. It’s a very short report with a protocol, testimonies, loads of encouragement and resources.
Get patient, helpful friends or loved ones to surround and support you, physically, emotionally, spiritually. You need it during this time. Try NOT to be fearful….face this battle head on as if your life depended on it. It’s okay. There are truthful, healthy options and answers, and you CAN BEAT THIS!
P.S. My personal best advice right now to start with is STOP EATING ALL SUGAR, incuding Carbohydrates. Cancer thrives on sugar and doubles within 19 minutes. Just eat fresh plant based foods and fruits…..More ideas are in Tys book along with this website, too: Cancertutor.com
God bless you and your journey back to health. You will overcome this. ????????????
Carbohydrates are the building blocks of life and to say cut out ALL carbohydrates is equally as damaging to your health as getting a cancer. Don’t ever follow the advice of one single person, especially not one who ‘thinks’ they know all about your symptoms. Go to a specialist.
Sugar carbs, and sugar resulting carbs are dangerous. Carbs in plants/veggies are good for you! Plenty of them to add to your meals. Stay away from sugars that are added, or resulting from carbs that store as fat ultimately. They include wheats and grains (boxed bagged and baked goods). Defer to low glycemic and plant based foods. And reduce fruits to berries… they are the best for you anyways. Read Medical Medium too, by Anthony William –
But ultimately – start juicing all the superfoods (green leafy, green veg, green apple, etc)
Alhslize the body – your Dr will explain this in detail – and plenty of info on this subject online.
Prayers for you
proteins are the building blocks of all cells and hormone, carbs are energy.
Fresh plant based diet, fruits and vegs are carbohydrates. They mean stop eating refined processed carbs. And STAY AWAY FROM SPECIALISTS AND ONCOLOGISTS.
This is very dangerous advice. Every thing you eat, turns into glucose, which feeds all body systems. There are even metabolic diseases that require a high carbohydrate diet ( otherwise life threatening results), but have not seen any studies correlating cancer with these metabolic diseases. There needs to be a better explanation, not such a summarised piece of advice.
So sorry for your situation… there is a man named Rick Simpson on YouTube, check him out. Non-toxic plant oil can seriously help:) Grace & Peace… there is HOPE
Hi Tracey, I’m an herbalist. My family and friends have been having good success with Black Seed Oil. Just dab it on the spot 3 times a day. Make sure it’s cold pressed and pure. Amazing Herbs is a good brand.
Hi, please how I can ordered this Black seed oil . I was diagnosed with Merkel cell carcinoma about 3 months ago.
Hi, I have been alert from my GP of a possible BCC and asked of a surgery removol of the mole, can it be worste? do you think I should go on with the asportations or there are others ways of diagnosis? I am very worried abou it, thanks for hepling
Stephania, please read my comment to Tracey above. You will be okay. ????????
Excellent. Let’s not worry about the fact that the radiation from your cell phone and its associated network of masts is contributing to your risk of getting cancer in the first place.
Guys, come on! Join up the dots! Don’t encourage the use of damaging technologies.
I can’t believe I’m reading this!!! ( 2 years later..) But I hope by now you’ve found out the truth about “Smartphones”……They CAUSE cancer!!!!!!!!!
Are these apps just for moles or are they for basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, keratoacanthoma, and actinic keratosis as well?
Hmmm, using a cancer-causing device to detect cancer. Sounds like a mammogram!
Sorry, but I can’t help but see the irony here – you are using a carcinogenic device to screen for skin cancer! NTP $25 million, 10 year, government study (no matter how they try to spin it) concludes increased risk of cancer (brain, heart and quite possibly adrenal) from exposure to same frequencies as cell phones. Please use your phones as little as possible. Put them on airplane mode when not in use or turn off (there are reports that some phones may still emit RF when in airplane mode). Purchase a metal lined fabric pouch for your phone which screens out approx. 90% of the radiation as measured by reputable RF meter (take the phone out to make a call and immediately put it back in the pouch before holding it near your head). You can talk and listen through the fabric and still receive calls when using the mesh pouch. If you must use the phone to screen for skin cancer, put it back in the pouch immediately and keep it there all the time the phone is turned on.
Is there a metal lined fabric pouch you recommend? Thanks!
I googled and found on amazon choices of faraday pouch. I also found a mesh bag without protection on jampaper.com, and metallic fabric on amazon to make my own.
However, from what I understand, when in the pouch, the phone does not receive signals. So, I don’t think you can talk on phone with it in this pouch.
May I ask what the mesh pouch is that does allow talking on the phone? How can it both stop the signal and allow communication simultaneously?
Thanks much.
TRACY,
YOU ARE GOING TO BE OKAY.
I HAD SCC LAST YEAR AND AM NOW CANCER FREE.
MY THOUGHTS WOULD BE TO GO TO YOUR DERMATOLOGIST AND HAVE HIM REMOVE IT THERE ARE SEVERAL WAYS THEY DO THAT AND I DO NOT KNOW WHICH WILL WORK FOR YOU, BUT HE/SHE WILL.
AFTER MINE WAS REMOVED, I FOLLOWED THE ANTI-CANCER DIET AND LIFESTYLE.
YOU WILL BE HEALED………..
Thx for this reply, what is the ANTI-CANCER DIET & where can I get it?
Thx to let me know on FB.
I am not on FB but the diet is simple: I like the phase one diet, free. go to Google and dl it. or follow what you read here………..no sugar at all as cancer feeds on sugar. I hope I was helpful
Of course you are somewhat fearful
but I think you will be okay.
I had SCC last year and am fine now.
go to the Dermatologist and he or she can remove it
it does not hurt

My husband was told by his PCP that he had Melanoma they wanted to takeout a football size cut from his back he said no thank you, they wouldnt BIOPSIE it because they said it would spread but they assumed it was Melanoma so he left came home did some researchwe ordered some Black Salve putit on his back and within 10days the mole fell out that was 4yrs. ago never had anymore incidences since then.
That’s awesome! Which black salve did you use?
I had precancerous skin cells on my nose and used Curderm for several weeks… it is totally gone. I worry because I had, years ago, basil skin cancer on my cheek and had it removed. My husband blends an organic eggplant with apple cider vinegar and makes a paste in the VitaMix blender and applies to his head, as he has lots of precancerous skin cells appearing all the time. This natural method works in getting rid of them… it is a slow process. Dr. Mercola has on one of his websites talking about Curderm. Check out his archive on skin cancer.
Thanks for sharing all of this information with us Kathleen! We are glad to hear that Curaderm is working for you.
